Captain Krista, owner and founder of Island Charters, is a 5th generation Apalachicola native, born and raised on the same waters that her Great-Great Granddaddy worked on as a shrimp boat captain 107 years ago. It’s safe to say, “she gets it honest”.

Born to a family who has fished these local waters since the late 1800's, this lady angler gets her passion for fishing honestly. Having spent most of her childhood on a dock or in a boat, Miss Miller is no stranger to her Creek Indian heritage of living off the land.

The spirit of fishing and hunting are part of this native’s genetic history. She was taught by her fishing family to instilled the importance of nature conservancy and protection of our natural resources. She was also born to a true outdoorsman mother, who holds several SCI hunting records as the sharp-shooting "South African Huntress of the Year".

Your time with this entertaining guide will leave you with more knowledge than you arrived, as she loves to share the area's uncommon history and tell stories of growing up in this one of a kind community.

From advanced anglers, novices and even young children, Captain Krista customizes each charter to ensure her clients' experience is one to remember!
