Texas Traction Company

Texas Traction Company Created in 1997 for the restoration, preservation and interpretation of historic, North Texas transportation artifacts.

A non-profit 501(c)3 formed for the purpose of preserving historic transportation in the North Texas area.

The current vision of Texas Traction Company includes:

* Consolidation of all equipment and artifacts to one central location to be housed and displayed in an operating workshop/interpretive center.

*Educational Opportunities will include, but not be limited to:

- Providing workshops (on sight and in schools) for students in North Texas area schools.

- A work-study/cooperative learning experience with FWISD incorporating electrical and math concepts linked to trolleys.

- Teaching students to operate a streetcar

- Running shop tours utilizing existing equipment

* Develop an archival library system consisting of historical railroad artifacts, books and periodicals emphasizing items from the North Texas area.

* Develop an Acquisition/Collections policy and keep an inventory of said collections.

* Create and operate a Demonstration Streetcar line.
