Just finished 2 of the 3 days of Handicapped Scuba Association instructor course. It is some serious training. We took turns playing instructor and students with many scenarios. Diving with a blacked out mask or with both legs and an arm tied up is an eye-opener and a great approach by HSA to teach us how to instruct and to show us the challenges the students face. Lake day tomorrow for the final training.

June 1-3 I will not be available to teach scuba. I am going to school myself. I will be be training for the Handicapped Scuba Association. This will allow me to train our wounded veterans as well as others that need a teaching approach that is not part of standard instructor training. I am very excited about this opportunity!

Got a friend or family member you would like to get scuba certified? Invite them to get certified and be their dive buddy during their training. You'll get a fantastic refresher course. You will share the experience and you will have the advantage of having already logged dives with your new buddy before your first trip.
