Join us on Thursday, March 24th at 7pm to learn about the Royal River estuary with Zach Whitener!
Zach Whitener will tell us about his favorite part of the Royal River--the estuary! His home away from home for much of the year, Zach spends quite a bit of time here between guiding for striped bass, working as a scientist at the , recreational boating, and waterfowling. The second largest freshwater input to Casco Bay, the Royal River has long provided important habitats in the area, home to a wide variety of plants and animals since the ice sheet receded. Many people and animals utilize these habitats in different ways throughout the year and Zach is going to give us a look at some of them. Zach grew up in Casco Bay and is lucky to still call it home, blurring the lines of his professional and personal life spending as much time as he can on water. Come with your thoughts, insights, and questions about how you interact with the estuary too!
