The Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center participated in yesterday's SoHum Focus group meeting hosted by SoHum Housing Opportunities. In attendance were representatives from the California Department of Housing & Community Development, Redwoods Rural Health Center, SoHum Health - Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, Redway School, and Vocality Community Credit Union. The state representatives listened to the unique challenges faced by our community regarding services for unhoused individuals. The meeting was very informative, and we are glad to have participated in the discussion.

Humboldt Wine: Planting to Serving Tourists Andrew Morris of Briceland Vineyards is Humboldt’s first second-generation winemaker. He will present a survey of the entire process of Humboldt wine, from site consideration to wine tasting with tourists and everything in between. The presentation will include anecdotes from farming and a brief overview of the winemaking process. Briceland’s history with Humboldt wine goes back to 1977 when the planning and planting stages began before the bonded winery was formed in 1985.
