A message from our management company

Dear Owners,

We were relieved to see the picture showing the Chateau, apparently spared. In the lower right corner, just before the smoke, it looks like our office might be ok too. Like you, we are still relying on pictures. Gatlinburg is still closed to anyone but emergency personnel. We were told that K9 search teams are searching for the missing. Please pray for them.

Possible tomorrow they will begin to let people back in....

Looks like most of downtown Gatlinburg is intact including the Gatlinburg Château (Red) and Ripley's Aquarium (Blue).

Good Morning All....

Just finished watching the latest press conference. There will be another at 4:00PM.

The roads remained closed into Gatlinburg. Folks are working hard to get them open, but due to the danger they remain closed to the public.

Find below a list of structures affected by the wildfires.

Please continue to pray for our mountain home/s and for all the souls who have lost so much.

Another update:
Dear Friends....

I watched the 4:00 PM press conference so that I could update those of you who are not able to find out any information.

First, sadly there have been three lives lost. According to Fire Chief Miller those poor souls were not found in Gatlinburg, and they were in separate incidents. No identification has been made at this time. As there are areas that have not been visited as yet due to trees and electrical wires being down it is not known if there are other fatalities or injured folks. The total of people who have been taken to hospitals is fourteen, I believe. Three folks have been taken to Vanderbilt for burn injuries. Please keep these people and their families in your prayers.

Secondly, according to one fellow conducting the meeting this is the largest fire in Tennessee's history in the last one hundred years.

Thirdly, the fires are far from over. Winds are supposed to get into the 60 mph range tonight. This is better than the 87 mph winds of yesterday, but these winds will make fighting the fires tonight very difficult and dangerous. Again, keep the brave people who are risking their lives to put the blazes out in your thoughts and prayers. They are amazing heroes.

Fourthly, the main street through Gatlinburg and the Glades area have been spared for the most part. Wears Valley and the Cobbly K**b areas were hit hard.

There will be another press conference in the morning at 11:00 AM eastern. I have been watching WBIR.com on my computer.

This is all I have at the moment.

Please take care. God bless.

Gatlinburg Chateau and Old Gatlinburg Place are both fine.

11/29/2016

From our Management folks in Gatlinburg
"We're sorry to take so long to get more information out, but we evacuated as of 9:30pm and are trying to get updates. The fires are still burning, so we can't go back yet. The first responders are asking that the news people keep out of their way so they can get the fires under control. Most of the video we've seen is taken by people as they evacuated. It is devastating.

As we left, Alamo and Mountain Lodge, Napa and those shops along 321 are gone. When we tried to get our friend Keith last night, there was fire on both sides of Baskins Creek Bypass and trees down blocking the road. This morning we hear that Black Bear Falls and Westgate Resort are gone. Both sides of Chalet Village are in bad shape, but we don't have any details.

As soon as they will allow us back in, we will go. This is devastating...Please pray and we will update you as we learn anything."
