Kathleen Carr:
In 1996, Kathleen Carr opened The Growing Scene, Inc., a landscape and garden center business. Her passion for helping people care for their homes has led her to begin a new business, Assurance Home Service, Inc. Assurance Home Service was created through conversations with area homeowners who are in need of someone to look after their homes while they are away. Over the past 20 yea
rs Kathleen has made site visits to thousands of homes. Through these site visits, she has become very adept at observing not only the landscaping but also the home itself, skills that she will use in her role as President of Assurance Home Service, Inc. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. Prior to opening The Growing Scene, Inc she was a horticulture teacher at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Science. She writes a gardening column in the Sunday Newspaper and hosts a radio show on the Huntley Community Radio Station. She actively volunteers her time through the music department and the athletic booster club of the local high school. When not working, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris and their three children, traveling to visit friends and family. Baking is something that brings Kathleen and her daughters together. Sports also bring their family closer together. They have participated in
several 5K races for charity. Carr recently celebrated his 25th year in the construction industry. He has overseen the installation of a wide array construction projects both in public and private institutions. His work has allowed him to make improvements in schools/universities, churches, and corporate facilities. He is a member of the Sports Industry Network, Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates of Chicago and The Association for Operations Management. He is strongly committed to his community and family. He has served as an elder and deacon in his church. He also coached his son's baseball team. Chris and his wife Kathleen are the proud parents of two daughters and a son. He is thrilled to be opening Assurance Home Service, Inc. He brings his extension construction and home maintenance knowledge to this company. This will allow him to continue to assist homeowners through his experienced and watchful eyes.
