A Quick Note From Dave
Hi, I’m Dave, the owner of Kayak Hilton Head, Inc. I’ve been working on the beautiful waters of Hilton Head since 1995. Since then, I’ve been teaching visitors to our island all about the dolphins, birds, oysters, salt marsh and many, many other interesting things about our island. Over the years I’ve found kayaking the best way to do this.
We can easily get up and close with nature as thekayaks move quietly through our Hilton Head waters so the wildlife doesn’t feel threatened. This is a great activity for beginners, families and experienced alike. Our goal is to provide a leisurely, fun, and educational experience. We have all kinds of interesting stories about the wildlife and our island. We’ll even let you in on the secrets about the locals favorite places to eat.
Having worked at Disney’s Hilton Head Resort for several years as a nature guide, we know how to entertain the kids. We often catch blue crabs, shrimp and many interesting varieties of fish as a great ending to our tours. Sometimes even a stingray or funny looking puffer fish (warmer months, usually april through sept). The kids love this! Adults too! It’s a great opportunity for the kids to hold and learn about these interesting critters and provides great photo opportunities for the parents.Even Jordan, my black lab, enjoys riding in the kayaks and seeing all the fun critters!
So maybe you’re interested in the DOLPHINS or the interesting birds, maybe in the marsh grass, the oysters, or the jumping shrimp! Could it be the interesting history of Hilton Head or the just best places to eat. Whatever your interest, we are full of knowledge and enjoy passing it along to you.
