The OluKai Lowcountry Boil Paddle Battle is proud to partner with the USA SUP National Championships for three incredible days of competitions, as well as a reunion and memorable gathering for the SUP community on Hilton Head Island. The top three women and men finishers in the 200m Sprint Races, 10K Calibogue Cup, and 800m Techincal Races will have their entries for the 2024 ICF SUP World Championships paid in full, and the overall winners will represent Team USA at the World Championships!

Additional races include The Boil, a 10-mile endurance course circling Pinckney Island, and the 5K Vairo Aloha Cup, a short course for all paddle craft including recreational SUP and kayaks. Fireworks at Shelter Cove

Join us at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina for Hilton Head’s largest fireworks display every July 4th.

Before fireworks light up the night sky over Broad Creek (when the sky is dark), beloved entertainer and musician Shannon Tanner will perform not-to-miss show from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. followed by a special patriotic Parrot Palooza Sunset Celebration through the fireworks.

Kids will also enjoy entertainment from Cappy the Clown including face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon animals and much more from 6 - 9 p.m.!

Gullah culture is rooted in giving, sharing and kindness. Sankofa Nights a unique event that brings diverse people to a family style table for Gullah storytelling.

What better way to learn about the traditions, foodways and language, than to come together at a Gullah table to experience an incredible cultural language expert, stories, and the food, while helping preserve and protect the culture and its historic land?

Sankofa Nights is a fundraiser for the Lowcountry Gullah Foundation Historic Gullah Land Preservation Program.

Guest speaker this year is Dr. Jessica Berry a speech-language pathologist, researchers, and educator with extensive knowledge and expertise in Gullah Geechee culture, language, and history.

Town of Hilton Head Island announced that construction work for a new pathway at Islanders Beach Park, 94 Folly Field Road, has been completed. The pathway is now open for public use. The project consisted of:
• construction of a 12-foot-wide paver pathway through the center of the park and a raised crosswalk on Folly Field Road leading to the park's entrance.
• new benches, additional golf cart parking, signage, and crosswalk markings.
• landscape improvements along the entire pathway.
“Our efforts over recent months to enhance our beach parks reflect our commitment to improving amenities for residents. The completion of the pathway at Islanders Beach Park expands our network, fostering better connectivity for bicyclists and pedestrians, ensuring safer exploration of our island's beauty."
