The Disaster Recovery Center is REOPENING TOMORROW (Tuesday, October 22) at a NEW LOCATION: The Agricultural Extension Office, 1303 17th Street West, Palmetto. Tuesday’s hours will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Then starting Wednesday (October 23), hours will be daily, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., until further notice. As a reminder, the most efficient way to reach FEMA is by doing one of the following: Going to DisasterAssistance.gov, using the FEMA App or calling 800-621-3362.

To help Manatee County residents, Development Services is waiving select residential and commercial property building permit fees for damage related to Hurricane Recovery in 2024. Waiving of these fees will be in effect until March 1, 2025. Many of you have been reaching out about debris pickup. We are working as efficiently as possible to get all the piles from both Helene and Milton cleared off the right-of-ways in front of your homes. Manatee County is continuing to expand the number of trucks on the road. We presently have over 50 in service with more on the way.

We have created a new realtime GIS map so you can see exactly where the trucks are and how much debris has been collected. The brown dots are the trucks. The numbers on the dots reflect the avg cubic yards collected in that area so far. If you zoom in, you’ll see more info. For instance, each yellow dot when zoomed in is one truck load removed from that area.

We hope this helps you all monitor the clean up efforts in unincorporated Manatee County.
