Virtue...Or....?

Now, dont anyone get all mad at me or take what I'm about to say too seriously. If you do, then please re-evaluate your priority meter and see if maybe some adjustments need to be made. I will also do the same.

Most of what I'm about to say is in jest.

Something that has always annoyed me is when people get some idea in their head, doesn't matter where they heard it from, probably YouTube, and then regurgitate it as fact.

This happens on the internet all the time and honestly is a great litmus test on who has worked with many different horses. The loudest opinions come from the person that has trained one horse using the guru's method and it went, decent, maybe even good. So now that are an expert on all things horse.

It also strikes me as funny and irritating at the same time the idea that anyone's horse has to be a certain height. This is something that happens mostly in the North East.
The same people claim that their five foot nothing frame needs a seventeen hand horse to carry them around seems silly to me.
The same person that demands and rides around on the high horse is usually the person that just asked her husband to move out of the two story home because she is tired of the stairs. But still loves the idea of a nineteen step mounting block required to climb on or off the rocket donkey.

If you want to enjoy the thinner air up there, I say go for it. But at the same time if I ride a fourteen hand cow pony what do you care.

I could go on with my examples and point more fingers but if we all just would knock off the judgemental shenanigans we could all just enjoy our horses. The biggest reason I hear that people don't show anymore is because they got burned out of the judges that aren't the one determining the placings.

If you are convinced that I'm talking about you...maybe I am.

I may ride different. Good. You may ride better. Good. You like English. Good. I like quarter horses, you save mustangs. Good. Let's just enjoy our horses the way God intended and just maybe share the joy they bring with others more than our opinions.
