About us:
On the last Friday of January 2011 the 1st Eat The Street was held in a parking lot on Kapiolani Blvd. That night the turn out was well over 1,500 people, many vendors sold out and some went back to their kitchens and got more food and sold out again. After the first Eat The Street Street Grindz partnered with Kamehameha Schools to move the event to the 555 South street lot in Kaka'ako

which has been the home of Eat The Street ever since. Our mission:
Street Grindz was founded with a mission to create a platform for Hawai’i’s Mobile Food Industry, which allows them to be successful at what they do best. Through Street Grindz support we intend on offering a long lasting program that will include the production of events, marketing and social media support and the continued effort to remain viable as an industry. Our experience:
At the 555 South street location Eat The Street has seen a steady increase in attendance from 2,000 people up to 10,000 people a month or over 325,000 people in 2.5 years. Eat The Street has not missed a month since their start in January 2011 and hopes this event will continue to grow and serve the small food businesses as well as the people of Hawai'i. With the success of Eat The Street, Street Grindz has become a resource for food trucks by helping them get catering business. Also, Street Grindz worked closely with the mobile food vendors and City and County representatives such as Tulsi Gabbard in amending Bill 59 to create a more favorable work environment for Food Trucks to perform their daily business transactions.

CALL FOR HELP!!!!!! FOOD TRUCK BUSINESSES LIVELIHOOD AT RISK!!!!!!

Food Truck Owners.... Be Aware!!! You Must Speak Up and oppose Bills 45, 46, 47 until your voice is heard!!! Submit testimony to Ernie Martin - Honolulu City Council Chair who introduced the bill!!!!!!!

All food vendors need to speak up and oppose Bills 45, 46, 47 until key items noted in the bill are improved. If not... you are all getting pushed out of private property good truck lots and back to the street where the City Council will continue to regulate you more. Basically this bill is aimed towards private land owners. It lays the pressure on Food Truck Lot business owners, ultimately discouraging them to have food truck lots, making it impossible to afford having it. Then once the vendors are back in the street the county can regulate food vendors more easily. Creating more revenue streams for themselves along the way... AKA Bill 1!!! Shame council members continue to pick on our mobile food businesses, they don’t support our smallest local business owners.
