Yesterday, Rick touched the Atlantic Ocean in St. Augustine, Florida which closed his epic journey across the U.S. which started in San Diego, California. ๐๐ Along the way, he carried a Prince symbol in memory of our fellow Hawai'i Travel Director, Leo Liugalua. ๐.

Rick's journey Eastward recently brought him to the Pelican State of Louisiana. Winding through the backroads with his bike and supplies, Rick made his way up to New Orleans where he was able to meet up with MC&A's own Benny Harrell and Denise Ferrier-Mavor. While there, he was able to enjoy some great NOLA fare at Mother's Restaurant with a plate of biscuit with debris, grits and more.

Over the weekend, staff from MC&A's Hawaii and West Coast offices gathered to pick up trash on Waikiki's scenic Kapiolani Park and Kaimana Beach. Together with groups from JTB Hawaii, Tachibana Enterprises and TP Transportation, the effort was a part of JTB's annual Brighter Earth Project.
The JTB Brighter Earth Project brings customers, local residents, and JTB Group employees together to conduct activities that create a bright future for everyone.
The program takes advantage of the local characteristics including cleanup activities at tourist destinations, conservation of the natural environment, and learning about regional history and culture. Through environmental beautification and human interchange JTB wishes to join with all of the people involved in "Bringing vitality to the earth and smiles to people."usa

Last night the MC&A Hawaiสปi team welcomed members of the MC&A California, Las Vegas and Arizona teams with a huge "ALOHA!" aboard a Sunset Sail cruising off the coast of Waikiki. The Mainland teams were visiting to participate in JTBสปs Brighter Earth Project. It was great seeing teams from opposite sides of the Pacific getting together to share laughs and libations.

When Maui was impacted by the devastating wildfires last year, we were profoundly touched by the overwhelming display of care and solidarity extended to both our MC&A โOhana and our cherished Maui community. The outpouring of support and calls for assistance was a testament to the genuine concern and compassion within our MC&A family and beyond. In response to this, we established our own MC&A Malama Maui Relief Fund.
When we reached out to our team members affected, their selfless response was to prioritize helping others more in need. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our MC&A families, vendors, clients, and travel partners we were able to fulfill this request and more. The final distribution of funds was recently completed with great care and consideration, aiming to ease some of the challenges faced by those directly impacted and their families.
This act of aloha reflects the deep love and concern shared by all involved and embodies the spirit of malama and unity that defines us as an โohana. ๐๐ด

May Day has roots dating back when Hawaiians honored Lono, the god of fertility and agriculture. The lei tradition began in 1928 when poet laureate, Don Blanding, thought that Hawaiโi should have a day set aside to celebrate and recognize the custom of giving and receiving lei.
