Wintertux is a remote mountain chalet located on 40 acres of private land surrounded by the Sawtooth National Forest about 50 miles from Sun Valley, Idaho. With mid winter snow depths of 8 to 12 feet, the quality of powder snow and mountain terrain is excellent.

In order to be truly self-sufficient I’d need to carry my snowboard in an efficient manner, bring my sleeping bag, hydration and food, my avy tools and some personal items all on the bike. I would need to choose my layers wisely, wearing everything I could and carrying no duplicate layers.
