The Axle-TruTM Laser Alignment System is a simple, quick, and accurate alignment system. The Axle-TruTM system does not rely on computers, strings, or touchy sensors. Nor are there complicated mathematical calculations, or even more complicated calibration schemes. In addition to a savings in tire wear; a properly aligned tractor or trailer will save in fuel and general maintenance costs. As littl

e as 1-2 degrees of misalignment, which is not uncommon, can result in a 2 percent decrease in fuel economy. For a tractor/trailer which travels 125,000 miles per year, that equates to 500 gallons of fuel wasted. From a maintenance standpoint, a properly aligned tractor/trailer saves wear on kingpins, bearings and tires. From a driver standpoint, a properly aligned tractor/trailer cuts down on driver fatigue. The Axle-TruTM system is very easy to operate and provides much greater accuracy than a tape and pogo stick. There are no special requirements for space as the laser shots can be taken virtually anywhere a tractor or trailer is sitting on a level surface. This includes bay areas, inspection areas, indoors, or outdoors. The system is designed for one person to do the complete alignment and with practice this can normally be accomplished in one to two hours. There are some trailer applications for which a two-person team is much more effective.
