Entirely too many women are wearing a bra with a too-big band and a too-small cup. This can cause many preventable issues such as mild to severe back pain, straps that won’t stay up, band riding up, spilling out of the cups, and more. The problem lies with most stores using out-dated (adding +4 to the ribcage measurement) or completely made up fitting methods (measuring Over the bust?) designed to
get you to “fit” in their limited size range. There’s nothing wrong with using those stores, If You Fit In Their Size Range, but the sad truth is that most women will find a better fit elsewhere. The true range of sizes out there is so much more than the 32A-40DDD that we’ve grown up with. To put it simply, each inch in difference between your ribcage and bust measurement approximately equals one cupsize. This is, of course, an oversimplification because individual breast shape/density/etc then needs to be taken into account. The measurements themselves are really just a good starting point. Explore the world of 28A-44K and beyond, and come with me on my journey to open my bra-fitting business, a mobile house-party adventure that brings the bras to you. We’re in the planning stages right now, and getting the word out there. As soon as I amass enough bras we’ll be opening our (your) doors! Resources:
