Broadway at the View is just around the corner—September 13-15!

Today, we're thrilled to introduce two incredible performers who are vital to the magic happening on our stage:

Ricky Thompson has been performing in public since he was just 4 years old and has a deep love for all styles of music. His impressive career spans opera, musical theatre, and performances with symphonies, choruses, and orchestras. Locally, Ricky has taken on roles in ArtsView’s productions of The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, the 24 Hour Musical, and The Music Man. He currently serves as the worship pastor at Morton Baptist Church in Diana and works for Door Control Services, a DH Pace company. Ricky is passionate about the impact ArtsView has on young minds, saying, “What I love about ArtsView is the way they excite the imagination of kids to dream, create, think through, and overcome, empowering them with the freedom and boldness to present it to the public. This is the essence of art, and kids are learning that at ArtsView in a fun and engaging way.” Ricky is married to Amanda Thompson, and they have two beautiful children, Conner and Abigail.

Mark Roedel considers ArtsView his happy place, and it's easy to see why. He’s worn many hats at ArtsView, including on-stage roles, playing in pit orchestras, serving as a rehearsal accompanist, musical director, and sound cue operator. One of his yearly highlights is putting together the house band and performing in Broadway at the View. Outside of ArtsView, Mark works in the Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications department at LeTourneau University. He’s married to Alison, ArtsView’s Education Director, and is the proud dad of ArtsView teen Ryland. In his spare time, Mark enjoys music, board games, and tackling the New York Times Crossword almost every day. His favorite thing about ArtsView is watching each actor develop and improve their craft with each rehearsal, ultimately bringing together performances that enchant ArtsView audiences.

Kate Mead is making her ArtsView debut this year, but she’s no stranger to the world of theater. Kate also has experience directing and assistant directing high school theater in both Illinois and Texas. She’s married to Bryan, who has also been involved in theater, and together they have two children, Anna and Shane, who share their passion for the stage. By day, Kate is an educator, teaching communication at East Texas Baptist University.

His theater journey began years ago with Longview Community Theatre, and he also toured around the world as a vocalist with the Celebrant Singers from 2002-2004. A Longview native, Jonathan lives here with his wife, Sarah, and their four children, three of whom have also found their place at ArtsView.

Countdown to Broadway at the View—September 13-15!

Today, we’re excited to introduce two more incredible talents who are bringing their passion and energy to the stage:

Brian Dearborn is no stranger to the ArtsView family! Along with his wife, Bethani (ArtsView’s board president and last season’s director of Oliver!), and their three sons, Brian has found a home at ArtsView. When he’s not at ArtsView, Brian works at Komatsu as a technical drawing checker and enjoys playing bass and singing background vocals for local bands and his church’s praise team. You might remember him from previous Broadway at the View performances, where he’s played bass and participated in group numbers. He also made his main stage debut as Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Brian is thrilled to be part of this year’s show and to share the stage with such talented performers.

Jamie Sherman is back for her third year at Broadway at the View, and she’s loving every minute of it! Jamie cherishes ArtsView for the magic it creates and the incredible people who pour their hearts into making it such a special place for both children and adults. As the office manager at Ferrell Chiropractic Clinic, Jamie stays busy, but she’s also found time to explore her love of music and performance, whether it’s on the worship team at church, performing with Sweet Adelines, or learning to play the dulcimer. Her favorite part of ArtsView? Seeing her son, Benjamin, discover and fall in love with the stage, thanks to the encouragement and support of the ArtsView community.

Get ready for an unforgettable night at Broadway at the View, happening September 13-15!

Today, we're shining the spotlight on two incredible talents who are set to light up the stage:

Amanda Thompson has been a beacon of musical talent in East Texas and beyond for over 15 years. From her college days at ETBU to gracing professional stages with symphonies, choruses, and bands, Amanda’s voice has inspired and amazed audiences time and time again. This marks her 8th year with Broadway at the View, and she’s bringing her all once again! A dedicated Pre-K teacher at Kilgore Primary School, Amanda is also a loving wife and mom to two beautiful children, Conner and Abigail. Whether she’s leading worship at her home church in Diana, TX, or performing alongside her husband, Ricky, Amanda’s passion for music and her community shines through. She’s honored to share her gifts with you and help ArtsView bring joy, confidence, and laughter to everyone who walks through our doors.

Mason McGuire is thrilled to be making his debut at Broadway at the View! Originally from Austin, Mason found his way to Longview for school in 2021 and, along the way, found a wife who introduced him to the ArtsView family. Now in his final semester, Mason is about to graduate with a Bachelor's in Professional Flight and hopes to stay in East Texas as a flight instructor. With a heart full of gratitude, Mason thanks God, his wife, his two cats (whom he lovingly calls his sons), VocalView, and ArtsView for this incredible opportunity. He’s excited to share this new adventure on stage with all of you.
