Kids House is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that operates through donations and grants that provides a child friendly facility for information gathering and treatment for victims of abuse. This allows for all involved agencies and victims to come together at one single facility, working together on a complete investigation including case history, sharing information and ideas, carrying through
to assist with prosecution and then determining the best course to provide mental health treatment and medical follow-up for the child and family. Agencies are able to work together effectively and efficiently. A more thorough investigation can be conducted by sharing information and resources. With everyone working together, a child is much less likely to be overlooked or have to suffer continued abuse. Children also receive follow-up care, opening up a path of help, healing and hope. Our facility is named in honor of the Wayne M. Densch Charitable Trust, Inc. Kids House is a warm, friendly environment where the needs of children come first. As soon as they walk in the door, children are invited to explore the playroom, located right in the lobby. There is also an outdoor playground and toys for all ages. Books, movies, and crafts are accessible and encouraged in an effort to make the children feel as comfortable as possible through their ordeal. The interview rooms are decorated with lively murals to be inviting and kid-friendly while being equipped with advanced video and audio recording devices to gather the best possible evidence for use at trial. Even the medical exam rooms are decorated with cheerful themes to calm and delight children of all ages. If you are interested in a tour of our facility, please contact us at 407-324-3036. Kids House is privileged to be staffed with the best and brightest individuals. Their compassion and dedication is apparent in everything they do. Through a partnership with Florida Hospital, Kids House provides a Physician Assistant and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner that conduct forensic medical exams.
