I’m currently offering an 8-week course on the Essentials of Whole Foods. This is designed to teach you how to live a healthy lifestyle by beginning with the most fundamental component of health: dietary nutrition! I’m a graduate of the Kushi Institute so my style is primarily in the Macrobiotic tradition. I’ll teach you which foods bring harmony to your body and which foods wreak havoc. In additi
on, I’ll teach you how to cook, how to shop and select foods, and even how to use proper techniques in the kitchen. Each class will cover a different element of the whole foods (macrobiotic) diet – how each component helps the body, and how to select and prepare it. I’ll teach right from my home kitchen so it will primarily be a hands-on learning experience. I am offering the class at a rate of $195 for the whole 8 week program, or just $25 per class. You can chose to enroll in the entire curriculum, or pick individual classes that suit you. Class size will average about 4 people, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and observe things up-close. There will also be ample time for you to try everything you’re learning while you’re in class. And, I’ll send you home with recipes and handouts each week so that you’ll be able to practice and refine all that you’ll learn. This will allow you to immediately begin implementing the whole foods diet in your own life! Some people say that such a healthy diet must be bland and boring. Well, I challenge anyone who believes that whole foods are boring to taste the dishes we will create in class, and try not to be pleasantly surprised! Usually the first word out of one’s mouth, after tasting something we’ve created in class is, “WOW!”, as if they never expected healthy food to actually taste so good!! I was a professional chef for 21 years cooking gourmet French cuisine, so I definitely know how to make things taste good – the difference now is that I don’t use many of the same ingredients that I used to cook with, because so many of those things have been proven to be leading causes of sickness and disease. In general, these high-fat, high cholesterol, rich, sticky foods (along with others) will cause our bodies to be thrown out of balance. Instead of cooking and eating the so-called “gourmet” food, I’ve awakened to a whole new world of life that I didn’t previously know about. It’s simply a world of balance, pleasure, happiness, and success, all things rooted in the nourishment we provide to our bodies. I want to share this incredible new world with you. Please join me for a class or consultation. Here’s a snapshot of my 8-week course on the Essentials of Whole Foods:
Each class will be 2-3 hours and will take place in my home. We’ll have a little bit of classroom learning each week (30-45 minutes), and we’ll spend plenty of time in the kitchen (1-2 hours). Class size will be 4-5 people in each section, and I can hold up to 3 sections. So this course is effectively open to the first 12-15 people who sign up. Here are the topics we’ll cover each week:
1. Introduction to whole foods
2. Root Vegetables
4. Round Vegetables
5. Greens, crucifers & dressings
6. Beans & sea vegetables
7. Fish
8. Soups
Also incorporated into the topics above, we’ll cover various kitchen techniques, we’ll learn about all the tools and utensils to use in kitchen, and we’ll even create our own condiments and seasonings each class. By the end of this 8-week course you will understand:
• The benefits of eating whole foods
• Essential cooking techniques and tools
• How to select healthy whole foods for your meals
• How to easily build an entire balanced diet and create amazing dishes! Please let me know if you have any questions about the class or my consultation services. To Life! Bill Klar, Macrobiotic Chef and Counselor
