At Libra, we are honored to be a team at work and in life. Most of us have been impacted by cancer in some form in our lives and here it has sadly touched one of our own, Chad Caudill. Chad is one of our valued teammates at our Dayton, Ohio location.

Our team came together and hosted a chili and bake cook-off event to raise money in support of Chad's ongoing expenses. The word used to describe the event was “unity” which is what we hear so often about our company. These are the times that OneLibra truly means something.

Besides raising funds to help this amazing cause, the company did get to enjoy some great baked goods and chili recipes, which were all judged and awarded. Congratulations to our winners Jim Miller (Chili Cook-Off) and Matt Kepperling-Wells (Bake-Off).

Thank you to all that contributed in one way or another and our thoughts are with Chad and his family during this time.

David has been a part of since 2019 when he joined as a 17-year-old senior at Stebbins High School.

Thank you David for being part of OUR team and for your honored service. We wish you the very best and know you will make our country proud!

We are so honored that you called Libra your home away from home for so many years and were an inspiration to so many. Thank you Steve for your dedication, loyalty, leadership, mentorship, etc. You may be retiring, but you will always have a second home with Libra Industries!!!

Libra Industries is proud to sponsor and support this amazingly talented team in the AWT Annual Robobot Competition swept the field to take the Championship. The 12th annual AWT Robobot Competition took place at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio.

Libra engineers Ken Kay and Rick Szucs provided mentorship and engineering support to the Mentor High School team during the design and creation of the team’s robot – “Buttercup”. From concept to cardboard and plastic mockups, to final fighting version production – Kay and Szucs provided the requisite expertise. swept the competition and went undefeated, winning five out of five of the events.

The Champion Buttercup team members are: Katherine Polanz, Austin Sternberg, Josh Lining, Zach, Payne, Kyle Habe, Josh Harting, and Logan Belcher.

is a regional member of the . The National Robotics League’s competition will be held near Pittsburgh PA on May 20-21, 2022. The team will bring Buttercup to the competition and looks forward to chewing up robots from other regions.

The competition gives students an opportunity to participate in a unique experiential learning experience. Students leave this experience with an increased awareness of the careers available to them and the educational opportunities linked to those careers. They work alongside engineers and machinists on the manufacturing floor. Additionally, the students develop relationships with industry partners that can lead to internship and career opportunities.

The Alliance for Working Together (AWT) is a consortium of over 100 manufacturing companies engaged in the sustainability of manufacturing in the local community. AWT works to create awareness and interest in manufacturing careers. Its mission is to promote the development of rewarding careers in manufacturing for the long-term success and growth of manufacturing.

The Program, started by the AWT foundation, is a high school robotics competition that partners high schools with industry mentors to build a 15lb combat robot. The program allows manufacturers to mentor high school talent through a 6-month design and build process. Many RoboBot participants go on to become innovators, pursue engineering degrees, and some begin working for their company sponsor upon graduation.

60 years ago today, astronaut Scott Carpenter, the fourth American in space and second American to orbit Earth, lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida in his Aurora 7 capsule. Carpenter spent nearly five hours testing equipment and taking photographs before splashing down.

During his flight, he checked in with various locations around the world including Mexico, home of Mexico. You can listen to this historical check-in here:
