Ever Heard of a Surprise Wedding?
It happened Christmas Day 2016. The Bride, Groom and her brother were the only ones who knew. Oh, and me. They were holding Christmas Dinner at their home. 30 family members from both sides were gathered and at 4:00pm, I walked in with Carrie June Moon the photographer. I handed them the bottle of wine I brought as a gift and the family member put it in the kitchen. We waited for the last family members to arrive.
The groom then asked all the family to join him in the living room by the Christmas tree. They thought they were going to have to sing for their supper. That was until the bride entered on the arm of her brother.
Everyone gasped with pleasure that they were finally tying the knot for Melissa and Cliff Gonzalez. Smiles all around. It was a magical moment as all weddings should be. Especially the kiss. I had not given permission but turned to the friends now family and told them how wonderful the surprise was.
He tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I had forgotten something? I paused then told them to seal the marriage with a kiss. That kiss was very special. SURPRISE!
