🔥 Fire is a tricky element in this neck of the woods. At the moment, a wildfire is raging to the north of us and while we are safe, our hearts reach out to our neighbors.

🧯We've also just passed our annual fire safety inspection as part of our licensing process, and look forward to welcoming guests to the safety of our home: with the AC to keep us cool in the midst of heat waves and to filter out any smoke or particulates from nearby wildfires.

Heart Lake:

Heart Lake gives amazing views of the area. The hike from Castle Lake is 3 miles out & back with an 800' elevation gain. It depends on your stamina, as we've had family & friends walk it from 5-80-yrs-old. Grab sandwiches at Mt Shasta supermarket or healthy grab & go options at for a picnic at the top or when you get back to the car at Castle Lake if you don't want to carry it all the way up.
