We just celebrated our 4th family vacation at Seven Palms which our grandkids affectionately refer to as “the yellow house”. Previous vacations had been spent elsewhere in other rental houses, but once we found Seven Palms, there was no reason to go anywhere else. Not only are the property itself and the location fantastic, but the owner, Wayne, really is the icing on the cake. He goes out of his way to make sure all his guests have what they need to thoroughly enjoy their stay. From a well-stocked kitchen to the beautiful pool and grounds, Seven Palms provides a home away from home where we can all relax and just enjoy being together. We all can’t wait to come back next year!

Our stay at Seven Palms was absolutely delightful! We had a large group and the house was the perfect space for us to vacation together! We spent mornings out on the large deck with coffee and conversation. The beach house is a very short walk to the ocean with beach access right across the road at the end of the street (less than a minute to walk). In the evenings the family swam in the private pool and played games in the fenced in backyard, which was a very nice feature when vacationing with smaller children. The open concept kitchen/dining/living area made the preparation of meals and dining a time of togetherness regardless of what activities or responsibilities were being tended to in that area of the home. The elevator was an awesome feature for one of our guests that had recently had a knee replacement. And most importantly, our host, Wayne, was very attentive to ensuring our stay was as delightful as possible. Before, during and after our stay he remained engaged and always responded to our conversations immediately. I’ve never had a host take such interest in making our stay amazing! We would definitely choose Seven Palms as a vacation home in the future if we visit Garden City again in the future.

My Family and I spent a few days celebrating my Mother in Laws 91 birthday. Please enjoy these photos taken after detailing, painting and an installation of a Heat Pump for my Cool Weather friends to enjoy this beautiful pool.

I would like to sincerely thank all off my guest (friends) that have made 2021 a successful season. I am blessed that our lives have crossed.

In case you missed it, thousands of starfish covered the beach in Garden City this weekend. Great photo via Jenn Lewis.

Dakota Hughes is an Aquarist at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach and he weighed in on what’s going on here.

"Most of the sea stars that have been washing up lately are Gray Sea Stars (Luidia clathrata). These are an intertidal species, meaning that they live the majority of their lives between the high and low tide lines. They actually sift the sand around them and use it to bury themselves so they end up getting uncovered as the tides fall quicker than they can move. We see them more this time of year because there are more living organisms in the intertidal zone for them to feed on. As winter comes, they tend to head back out closer to the shelf".
