Celebrating 100 years of sightseeing with a seersucker themed dockside “birthday party” at the Steamboat NATCHEZ!!! #centennialcelebration #graylinenola
We love showing off the #teambehindthesteam 🚢 Matt Dow is not only our Director of Marine Operations, but he is also a talented musician! He was taught how to play the Calliope by our very own Ms.Calliope herself, Debbie Fagnano. When you hear the sounds of the Calliope echoing throughout the French Quarter, head to the river to see this incredible instrument in action. #SteamerNatchez
It was a joy watching students from The Roots of Music perform on the Toulouse St Wharf last week! Thank you to these talented musicians for serenading guests on the Steamboat. 🎷#neworleansmusic #steamernatchez
Valentine’s Day is great and all, but we’re seriously missing Mardi Gras right about now…only 384 until next year!! #mardigras
Did you know that the oldest piece of equipment on the Steamboat NATCHEZ is this brass ring? It came off of an old Steamer back in 1889. When one of our Captains tugs the brass ring from the pilot house, it shoots steam through the loud whistle located on the roof. Join us for a river cruise to see the iconic piece of equipment in action. #steamernatchez 🎥: Dave McNamara
Congratulations to Maritime Partners, LLC on the christening of their new towboat, the Jack Nash! It was a joy having this group onboard, and thank you for celebrating this special occasion with us.

Let’s take a closer look at the heart of the Steamboat NATCHEZ, the steam engine room! Did you know that the reliable steam engines on old boats were commonly transferred to new boats for a new lease on life? Such is the case with the NATCHEZ.The towboat CLAIRTON (1927-1964), which belonged to the United States Steel Corporation, supplied the engines and additional engine room machinery for the NATCHEZ. She was used to push steel and coal from Pittsburgh to New Orleans until the modernization of diesel engines made the most powerful steam machinery obsolete. #steamboatnatchez
Our next #MusicMonth feature is the fabulous Debbie Fagnano.
Debbie has been the woman behind the Steamboat NATCHEZ's iconic calliope for the past three decades. One week 33 years ago, she volunteered to take over for the regular calliope player when he was sick.
He never returned, and she never left.

“Music Month" is the official city-wide celebration of New Orleans’ vibrant music scene. For the remainder of this month, we'll highlight some of our favorite musicians/bands in the city, starting with one we all know and love very much - the Dukes of Dixieland. For the last 30 years, the Grammy-nominated Dukes of Dixieland has been our house band on our evening jazz cruise. While we are undergoing renovations, they are still performing nightly on our sister vessel, Riverboat City of New Orleans, until we are ready to sail again.
There's no better way to celebrate #NationalPunchDay than with our famous NATCHEZ Jazz Punch! 🍹🤩
