I'm a travel consultant, not a mental health professional.
That said, if you find yourself in need of reinvention or rebirth, it might be time to plan a trip to Florence and Tuscany.
Here's why it's time for your own personal Italian Renaissance.

Did you know that the same city that inspired Dante to write the Inferno and Michelangelo to create David also inspired to create Instagram?

If you're ready for your own personal Italian Renaissance, here's why it's time for your trip to Florence and Tuscany.

What do Galileo Galilei, Leonardo Da Vinci, Dante Aligheri and the founder of Instagram all have in common? They were inspired by Florence and Tuscany. Here’s why it’s time for your own personal Italian Renaissance

Seasons are important on Greek Islands. Some, like Mykonos, are all-but-deserted outside of the high season (April-October). Others, like Crete, keep the party going all year long. No matter when you go, you’re sure to find companionship, revelry and incredible gastronomic delights in Greece’s famous Tavernas.

Have you ever heard that some people are foxes, who can do a little bit of everything, and other people are hedgehogs, who do one big thing?
The same is true of Greek Islands. For example, Crete is a Fox, home to cities, mountains, beaches, restaurants, and spectacular historic architecture. Mykonos, on the other hand, is a pure hedgehog - the world's greatest party spot!

What's your favorite to explore - foxes, hedgehogs or both? If you can't decide, check out the blog! maurysmeanderings.com/blog

"London Bridge is Down"
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belize, Jamaica and of course the United Kingdom. During the course of her life, she served at one time or another as the sovereign of 32 different countries, including one she refused to recognise (Rhodesia). She was also one of the worlds great travellers, with many of her state visits becoming historic occasions. The Queen herself never owned a passport, as every British passport is issued "In the Name of her [Brittanic] Majesty."

Wishing strength and healing to all of her subjects and admirers today.

Can you identify this famous Parisian glass dome?

Hint... think shopping

Hint... Emile Zola called it "Paradise for Ladies"

It's the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, the legendary "Grand Magasin" that practically invented the luxury retail experience. It's also the perfect place for the hoi polloi to meet haute couture. Together with its sisters (and rivals) Printemps and Le Bon Marche, they're one of the best ways to spend a day in Paris. What's your favorite Paris Department Store?

Quick Q for foodies, travel experts and Francophiles...
What city is France's Gastronomic capital?
It's Lyon!

Not only is the city home to over 4300 restaurants (including 20 with Michelin stars), it's a unique center for French regional and traditional eating houses called "Bouchons Lyonnais."

As a bonus, it's also much warmer and sunnier than Paris, sits at the confluence of two rivers and boasts a mix of historic renaissance-era streets and innovative modern buildings, so you can work off your meals with an architectural kayaking tour.

(My personal favorite is the Quennelle Lyonnais, a flaky layered fish and cheese dish. Superb!)

Are you feeling a little sun starved?
You might take some advice from Vincent Van Gough, who wrote "Ah, those who do not believe in the sun here are ungodly," after spending some time in Provence.

The luminous yellow sunlight of the South of France inspired Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin and Picasso. What will inspire you? http://www.maurysmeanderings.com/blog/2021/12/28/bon-retour-en-france

It's 7:30AM in Paris... Your flight landed at CDG an hour ago and you took the RER B line to Châtelet-Les Halles... You dropped off your luggage at your hotel, but your room won't be ready until 2PM. What are you doing next?

What a joy it was to return to Paris, fully vaccinated, rapid-tested, and bearing a QR-coded certificate attesting to those facts. I was eager to see some of my favorite sites again, and discover new ones . I also wanted to help my clients understand how international travel has evolved as we

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11

These Bedouin musicians in the Sahara Desert made me think of the three wise men who travelled to worship the newborn Jesus in the manger. Today, we're lucky to travel by Plane, Car, Train and Motor Boat, but everyone should have the chance to try travelling by pack animal and staying in tents at least once in their life!

At first glance, Malta and Bulgaria might not have much in common, aside from an abundance of Roman ruins. But they share a fascinating characteristic. They’re both crossroads nations, historically influenced by the powerful civilizations surrounding them, but with a culture and history that’s entirely unique.

Check out my latest post to discover these fascinating destinations. http://www.maurysmeanderings.com/blog/2021/10/28/crossroads-nations-malta-and-bulgaria
