She works with women to address health concerns and improve the quality of their lifestyle. Cheryl guides and supports her clients to shift their eating patterns, make their best food choices, understand the role stress plays in their lives, and look at the other sources of nourishment (or lack of nourishment) in their lives: work, play, physical activity, creativity and spirituality. One diet doe
s not fit all, which is why having a personal nutritional counselor is so beneficial. Cheryl is trained to sort through the vast array of dietary information, the “scientific evidence,” and “expert advice” about how to eat for proper weight and good health. She helps you determine what nutritional lifestyle is truly best for you. Many factors determine what might work for an individual at any given time. Food is more than a list of nutrient constituents. Food is energy. Food is our vital connection to Mother Earth. Food brings us together. It’s how we celebrate. It’s culture. It’s comfort. It’s pleasure. There are so many ways we can enhance and enjoy our relationship to food and eating as well as with ourselves, the eater. Cheryl’s approach is holistic and incorporates a mindfulness-based approach. She will not hand you USDA Food Pyramid based menus and wish you good luck. Instead, she starts where you are and takes you where you want to go, easily and simply, in the context of your busy real life, focusing on gentle but effective dietary and lifestyle adjustments that create deeper balance.
