Historic Oregon City is a 501c3 nonprofit at the official End of the Oregon Trail in historic Oregon City. The End of the Oregon Trail Visitor & Interpretive Center is located on land that had been lived on and cultivated by numerous Indigenous communities since time immemorial, prior to their removal to the Grand Ronde Reservation in 1855, and we recognize their continued connection to this place

. The End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center reopened in July 2022 with a new film, produced in collaboration with members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde community, called "Oregon's First People." The Interpretive Center contains exhibits that detail the lives of people and communities who traveled or were affected by the Oregon Trail. Admission & Pricing:

$17/adults, $15/seniors, $15/youth (ages 13-18), $13 children (ages 4-17). Guests need to check-in at the Visitor Center for tickets, and last admission to the Interpretive Center is at 3:30 daily. Remember, all brochures and travel assistance offered at the Visitor Center is free! Before and/or after you visit the Interpretive Center, please enjoy our Visitor Center lounge where you can choose from our great selection of local products and snacks, as well as goods made by our interpreters. Our mission is to "preserve the heritage, educate the public, and interpret the history of the Oregon Trail, Clackamas County and Oregon City, the western terminus of the Oregon Trail." HOC develops and manages programs offered at the Visitor Center and continues to develop educational services for schools and groups in Oregon.

Many people know the wagon bonnets were damaged in a windstorm about 20 years ago. But do you remember where they went? They protected a butterfly habitat in Honduras. We hope to connect with Mercy Corps to find out how long they lasted and maybe find some photos of them to add to our exhibits.

Have you noticed a flurry of activity lately?

We’re excited to be working on a couple new things and a couple old. Today, we found the original building plans in the old administrative suite.

Do you remember our opening in the 1990s? We would love to hear your memories of the event!
