Oswego Family Fun Days will be held on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th from Noon to 6:00pm. The free event will feature plenty of children’s activities similar to last year including a butterfly garden, inflatable water slides, euro bungee, bounce houses, live animals, archery, and much more.

The Family Fun Day event last year was a great success, so we are happy to replicate the event again this year to give Oswego families a fun event towards the end of the summer. Free events such as this bring the community together improving the quality of life for Oswego residents.

*Shooting Investigation*

On May 27, 2023 at about 12:20 AM, the Oswego City Police Department was dispatched to 49 West Bridge St.; The Sting, for a reported gun shot.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to the parking lot of The Sting, where they located a 31 year old male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound.

OPD officers, along with members of the Oswego Fire Department and Menter Ambulance began first aid immediately. The male was transported by ambulance to Upstate Hospital where he is still in critical condition.

This is an isolated incident and the general public is not in danger.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oswego City Police Department at (315) 342-8120 prompt 4. Calls will be kept anonymous.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police are assisting with the investigation.

As more information becomes available it will be released.

If you live in Oswego the Parking Bam is now in effect!

The on-street winter parking ban, prohibiting on-street parking in the city of Oswego from midnight to 6:00am in residential neighborhoods and 2:00am to 6:00am in downtown areas is now in effect.

Please give plow drivers plenty of space to safely and efficiently do their jobs. Once we appear to be clear of winter, I'll lift the parking ban immediately, as always.
