When you put an Army Ranger behind a precision rifle, it usually equates to a heavy backpack. I’ve known since we were little kids and it was my pleasure to watch him lay the hammer on his first bull at 562 yds. In typical Harper fashion he convinced me we could take all the meat in 1 trip 🤦♂️ and my back might still hate me 😂 #48
It’s safe to say that Sharon at 64 years old is tougher than most of us are at half her age. She made a hell of a hike and laid the smack down on this incredible late season bull! With the heavy snowfall we weren’t able to hunt until about 1pm Sunday afternoon and by 4:30 we were smelling gunpowder 😳 #47
I’ve wanted to get my hands on this buck since I first found him in 2017. I had a rifle tag in hand but could never turn him up, my buddy missed him in 2018, another good friend nicked him this year and finally .customs anchored him for good on Tuesday. Every time we’ve seen him he’s been within a 1/2 mile square of brush. The last 2 pictures are from a week before season last year. Congrats to Josh on a buck of a lifetime

Youth hunts are by far one of my favorites. Mason’s first big game hunt was nothing short of awesome! We were on plenty of great bucks every day and it all came together on Sunday morning when this buck ate a 7mm rem mag to the chest at 140 yds!
We hunted this bull for 6 days, had him within range multiple times and even at full draw once. But as big bulls seem to do he always turned wrong, walked behind a tree or had one of his ladies step in front at the wrong time. Another hunter put an arrow in him on day 8 but unfortunately was unable to recover him 😔 hopefully he bedded up and toughed it out
The bulls have been rounding up their ladies for a couple weeks now and Friday can’t come soon enough!
I was lucky enough to join a good buddy of mine on his girlfriends antelope hunt this past weekend. We spent a lot of weekends scouting and watching some great bucks, but found 1 in particular we wanted to hunt. Luck was not on our side as he decided to leave the safety of his draw away from the roads and into an area where he was easily seen only 2 days before the season started. We made the decision to hunt him anyways but he ended up moving almost 2 miles after dark and got smoked 45 min after daylight 😔. We had a miss (barely) on our number 2 buck and then found that 3 of our backups were getting free truck rides to Phoenix as well! We made a move and Kelly had mentioned she doesn’t care what it scores she just wants the heart shape and unfortunately for this guy, he fit the bill at 109 yds! While we were taking pictures popped the question and said yes! What an awesome set of events and truly a hunt for the books. Congrats you two and thanks for letting me be a part of it, I definitely won’t forget this one

I’ve known for dang near 25 years and we were lucky enough to draw November coues tags last year. Between playing baseball, being deployed overseas as a Ranger, and being in the fire academy he hasn’t been able to hunt in years. With 1 day to hunt, he made a great shot at just over 400 yds and harvested his first coues deer. Good times are what it’s all about
The late rifle hunt this year was full of high winds and sub zero temps, which just added to the nostalgic experience. My Father-in-law Kevin was able to harvest his first bull, with his dads .270 that was made AND been in the family since the mid 1940s! He now joins his father, his son and his daughter as having taken an AZ elk with this rifle. The icy sunrise made for an epic ending to a quest he’s been on for a long time

Well, January 1st was the beginning and end of my 2019 deer season. It’s hard to pass up a 4 point at 36 yds that’s grunting at his does. That just means there’s more time for bear season 🤷♂️
My good buddy got our week started by chasing this with the entire way up the mountain before smoking it at 83 yds. I expressed repeatedly, after getting busted and gaining 800+ feet in elevation, that they were working too hard for a javelina, but Jay “I do what I want” Pyburn wouldn’t give up 🤷♂️
I love archery deer in general, but one hunt I look forward to every year is our annual January hunt with and the guys from . We looked over and stalked a ton of bucks last week, but with an hour left the good Lord turned this dude 180 degrees and ran him right into Brandon’s path

I’ve realized I laugh and say something stupid every time someone shoots something with a firearm. 497 yards with a stiff crosswind was nothing for my pops and his 6.5 creedmoor. turret and digiscoping adaptor worked flawlessly as always.
After a rough couple days looking for a big mature mule deer we switched tactics on my dads hunt. Benefits of having an any antlered deer tag is being able to hunt both species. Glassed this old buck bedded across the canyon and he laid the smack down at 497
General rifle tags can produce some awesome bucks if you put the work in. Here’s with his from this past weekend. decided to check an old favorite spot of ours and found this buck and a few more kicking back away from all the hunting pressure

After a nice afternoon shower we were able to glass up a couple bears last night . This #bigboar killed a coues deer in front of us and was eating it when @senor_cardo sent the first round. We were fortunate enough to have enough time to get Don's shot on film through the #phoneskope. He put the smack down on this buck at just over 350 at an extreme angle uphill.
It's always nice to get a back scratch but it sure helps when you have long beams!
