My favorite safari job in Africa.
The grass airstrip at Gorongosa offers smooth landings but poses other challenges. Grazers like warthogs and impala love the open environment. So much so that this kind gentleman has the esteemed job to keep the runway clear and safe. He used to ride a bicycle to escort the wildlife off the airstrip. Now he has a motorbike. It took him 5 passes before we were clear for take off. We were crying with laughter experiencing it.
Join Kelsea and Parker for Friday sundowners with guide Steven from Mara Toto Camp 🍻 Not pictured: the two cheetah brothers lounging right next to the vehicle!

African Bush Camps Foundation: The WHY
This week we've been featuring Thorntree River Lodge, one of our Top 20 Favorite Camps and Lodges across Africa. We've highlighted the gorgeous design, tranquil riverfront setting and proximity to Victoria Falls, but a stay there goes beyond all of this.
When you choose Thorntree, you are supporting their mission of giving back to and supporting the local communities and wildlife in Zambia and beyond. This inspiring video shares the big WHY behind their efforts.
