As a fan of New York sports - we don’t like to concede much to Boston - but I have to say This (hockey at Fenway) and This (hockey at MetLife) these two things are not equal - It’s still pretty cool to see MetLife stadium done up for an NHL game but few things compare to the legacy and history of Fenway - Here’s to more hockey at Fenway and MetLife - and maybe one or two days for Boston’s top club ⚽️ teams to take the field and call this famous old ground their own ! Let’s see it happen

Hey Rog - what is the TurboTax platform for football clubs? Can’t say I’ve ever had that much of a soft spot for the blue Merseyside but what I do know is if one relatively small error costs you 10 precious points - I’d hate to see the bill that will eventually come due for Chelsea and City football group. What I do know is that I’ll be rooting for the Toffees the rest of the way at Fortress Goodison (accept one League match in the N5 whenever that comes up) Tagging a few of the GFOP’s in our brand new football market - surely some of them will be there to welcome you to the Casco Bay in 2025 and hopefully put the Everton EPL match on for you when you come to visit (leave your third and first bud light at home when you do come) Tagging a few of the friends - thank you for working the foyer for all us Yanks who wanted to learn this beautiful game. It’s usually darkest right before dawn - but I think we know that your city rally around this club and face this dark hour together .footy

Draft of a letter I sent in with the Athletic Director of Lewiston Highschool two weeks ago before their community was shattered by this terrorist attack. At the time I thought maybe it’d cheer them up about a disappointing campaign “don’t let the results get ya down” - now, I’m bitter about the fact that instead of a varsity season not going their way; their entire sense of safety and peace has been torn from them and I’m bitter about the fact that this is all preventable in our country. I’m confident that the first responders will have this guy bottled up soon - but everyone in this country goes into public spaces and no matter where you’re from and what you believe; the fact that your kids/loved ones aren’t safe in public should move you to action. Let’s not accept the same bumper sticker solutions and polarization; let’s call this out for what it is - an absolutely disgraceful and preventable waste of life. We owe these victims thoughtful/pragmatic action and change so that this type of thing can’t happen again

Here is a room of about 500 people paying to watch the London Derby today in Boston’s Back Bay - for some reason if anyone in this room wanted to go see their top flight MLS team play tonight; they’d have to drive about an hour and fifteen minutes (there’s no train to Foxboro on the weekends for soccer) and the drive home would be about two hours back to the center of the city. That seems like a lot of driving for what should be a top 2 football (⚽️) market on the east coast - so off I go to Foxborough to try and figure out what is up with the

Gramps - I know that his seven surviving children, twenty five grand children and thirteen great grandchildren will never forget him for all sorts of reasons; for me his razor sharp wit and hilarious black humor made me want to have jokes and be a story teller. He survived the death of his wife Anne by twenty three years and now that his race is run; I’m sure he’s happy to be reunited with her.

“You’ve never lived until you’ve seen your name on the face of a gravestone” he crowed once to a crowd of his grandchildren with a wry smile on his face while we all didn’t know what to say - he always had us in stitches and we’ll never forget him for it ❤️
