That time of year when catfish are praying for some cool water. This am it was actually below 80°!
Flatheads have sorta made a few clients happy this summer!
Yes we have spent some time Cobia fishing this summer and not what we’d like but Capn Scott did put some meat in the freezer.

Capt Joe Cannon fished Sunday with a group from C’ville, Annapolis Md and Louisiana and it was a tough day with 80 degree water. Bait was plentiful so that was not an issue. D***s here and there but biggest fish was a Flathead and what a blast Porter had gettin it up and into the boat!!! Porter will be coming back when water temps have dropped!!! Thank you and your 3 cousins for a nice day on the water.

Had a pretty good day today. The forcast was iffy but it ended up being really nice until the very end when it let loose as we got to the dock. Biggest fish today were 42 and 44.

What a trip with 3 New Yorkers on da Mighty James River. We did a full day on Tuesday and they played golf yesterday and back on the water this am at 6:45am and off by lunch!
Bait was plentiful. Gary had a 41.Steve had 2 in the 30’s and Ben landed a couple under citation level.
I thoroughly enjoyed this crew who
Rewarded me and Isaiah (1st mate)
Very graciously!

And we just overall had fun.
Just a note on daytime summer
trips in that Capn Joe will be doing
Some nite trips once the sun has settled and power boats going 90 mph the drivers are home in bed!

Went out today Saturday 3-2-2024 with my first mate Steve Parker……had a few nice takedowns and landed a couple but this 34 was the biggest. There were several guides 2 days ago and we all caught the same amount of fish.
Water temp right now at 51 degrees and the low temp was around 39 degrees F.
Exciting time of the season starts in the next 2-3 weeks.

Oh yes it was windy. Did Captain Joe, First Mate Steve and Retired Bob “ the mailman”…..catch fish?
Yes we did but they lacked size and a couple citations was all we could muster up. We’ll be back🎣✝️😎!

The Catfish Cadillac does it again!
Fished all day Saturday and caught fish, stayed dry and stayed warm!
I also had 2 super nice dudes on the chartered trip - Parker and JJ, along with Steve Parker my first mate.
No hogs but with the wind and the cold front that came thru we had a super fun day!
Next trip with JJ & Parker is Jan 17th and JJ will be joined by his lady……..Sarah - her PB with BIGCAT GUIDE SERVICE is 42lbs so we are looking for 3 new PB’s on our Jan Trip!

Love taking these guys out! Great day when it wasn’t blowin!

Also even though I charged my battery yesterday it was too weak to start the motor at the dock this morning. Thankfully my dad got me one of these battery jumpers for Christmas and it saved the day today! We had to use it every time we restarted today and it did the job. I even gave the Game Warden a jump at the dock this morning when his battery was dead too! (see comments for pics)

THE BITE IS ON…….this past Saturday I had the pleasure of
fishing with 3 new friends from
Harrisonburg VA! Josh, Jeremy
and Costas had a great day catching over 10 cats on the James River.
We had heat and the curtains on
the Catfish Cadillac blocked the winds and any rain🐟🎣✝️‼️

We do have 2 days open before
2024 gets here. Did I mention the water is cold and the bite is Hot!

The biggest cat of the day was
62 lbs and what a fight!

I turned 71 on Dec 5th and my question is “where in the Hello Pete when I need them the most. These fish dogged me! What a blast both days………I do have a day or 2 open 1 before Christmas and 1 or 2 after.

Nov 30th my main man Hickory(my Golden Retriever) turned 6 yrs old and he asked me if I would take him fishing & Swimming in the James River! So that’s what we did but it didn’t turn out according to plan.

We were to chill and relax and just enjoy the beautiful day.

I thought to myself why not grab a shad and maybe catch a fish. I fish with 6 rods and once the first rod went down twenty minutes later I had a 37, 40 & 41lb Bluecat. All 3
Fish were on at the same time and
All 3 hogs were caught on 1 gizzard
Shad✝️🤣‼️
Great day to be with my best friend
And always ready to go fishing✝️

Had a nice trip on the James River today with my first mate, Steve Parker. We were basically scouting looking around. Just trying to find some bigger fish in the last trip. I Catfish Cadillac ran great, and we did have the heater on for about an hour this morning. When the sun got up The fish woke up. We fished for about four hours and we had seven fish ranging from 14 pounds up to 36 pounds so it was a mixed bag of weight today. We did land a nice 22 pound flat head which I just love he was beautiful. I’ll attach some pictures here so y’all can take a peek at them if you’re not familiar with what one of our James River flat heads looks like. Caught a 15,20,33 and d***s made a great day. They will be back.

Bo brought his son Stone along on our trip along with Bo’s buddy JJ.
Stone did a great job pulling in a big Blue at 44lbs(Stone won’t much heavier but great 11 yr old kid). JJ hung a big one also but …..(only 41lbs). Bo didn’t fair so well but will be bringing some of his employees next trip to show em a good time!

Tanner and Kole had a great day on the Catfish Cadillac! Kole started off with a big 48 lb Bluecat!
Not to be outdone Tanner snagged a 68lb’er. Dad brought the boys to fish the James River despite he was in the middle of fighting fires in Madison Co. Be safe Court.

Another beautiful day on the water.
Great crew back for 2nd visit cause they couldn’t get enough fishing last week!
We were able to accommodate a fine gentleman with worse than
serious health issues who landed the biggest fish of the day “awesome citation blue cat).
Ian, John, Jim and da man today RODNEY🎣🇺🇸🎣‼️all pulled in several fish each and they WILL be back come cooler water temps🎣‼️

Thank you to Pappy, Walter, Luka and Jason for a great day doing what we all enjoy and that’s fishing
Catching is even better. Everyone got to hold a hog but Walter took the prize with a 58 lb blue cat!
We laughed most the day and we all just had a ton of fun.
I’ll post a few pics but our designated picture taker (me) slacked off some. We had wind rain and sunshine and the guys really enjoyed the Catfish Cadillac 🇺🇸🎣✝️‼️

Not a bad day. Wasn’t sure what to expect after the storm. The wind kept us from getting to a few places but some quality fish were caught but no giants. 5.5.10,12,14,20,24,26,33

Just imagine how good we could have done if they hadn’t brought 3 bananas!!!

Solid day today with a fun group. Filled the meat cooler and caught a couple good ones before the storms ran us off.
