I get a kick out of it when bay area agents would like to show one of our listings to a buyer, but do not have access to our lock boxes, nor do they want to drive to Sacramento. I enjoy being quiet while they squirm around to asking if I can help allow their buyer access. No is the answer and I emphasize that they are doing their client a disservice attempting to help them buy a home out of their territory.
They are handcuffing their buyer and hindering their chance of getting an offer accepted. With our seller's best interest in mind, we'd be hesitant to entertain an offer from a buyer without a local agent to manage the showing, inspection, and escrow process.
But these are special clients, the agent says, and they deserve the extra care that only the bay agent can provide. 😆
