In April, we welcomed several of our female alumni, and friends of Nouvel, to speak to our 7-12th grade girls about the importance of women in sports. Each of our guest speakers were college athletes and shared more about their unique experiences, while in high school, while performing at the competitive level and now as professionals and parents themselves. Thank you to Karlie White, Jessica LeFevre, Nora Weigl, Andrea LeBlanc and Libby Dill for sharing your story with our students. The audience loved hearing more from females who have sat in their seats and appreciated being able to ask questions to the incredible panel. Thanks to each of these ladies for taking time out of their day to share more with our female Panthers and thanks to Meghan Aird and Kelsey Lucas for organizing and hosting.

Teacher Appreciation Week begins tomorrow! Our friends at Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Saginaw featured some of our alumni who were so impacted by their teachers, they have become teachers at Nouvel themselves. A few of their inspirations were named in this feature. We want to know, which teachers have inspired you?

To commemorate National Teacher Appreciation Day on May 7, the Catholic School Council Alumni Committee talked to 5 Catholic school alumni who are now teaching at Nouvel Catholic Central High School and Elementary. When asked what attracted them to teach at a Catholic high school, here’s what we l...

Our seniors visited St. Mary’s University Parish at Central Michigan University with Fr. Matthew Gembrowski, class of 2015. They celebrated Mass, heard Faith-filled testimonies from current college students, took a campus tour, had lunch and spent some time in prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. While on campus, they also ran into Collin Vance, class of 2023.

Please help us wish good luck to NCC alum, Coach Preston Murphy!

Congratulations to former Nouvel Catholic Central High School star Preston Murphy who will be coaching in the Men's Final Four this weekend. As Special Assistant to the head coach Nate Oats, Murphy provides on-court coaching and on-campus recruiting support.

Murphy has been in Division I coaching since 2010, spending four years as an assistant coach at Rhode Island, where he played college basketball from 1995-1999, before transitioning to an associate head coaching role in 2014. From 2014-2015, he served as an assistant for Boston College.

Most recently, Murphy was an assistant coach at Creighton from 2015-2019. Creighton won 20 games every year Murphy was in Omaha, and made the NCAA Tournament twice in his tenure. As one of Creighton's lead recruiters, Murphy brought in Bluejay legend Marcus Zegarowski in the Class of 2018, who went on to be a First Team All-Big East and Second Team All-American selection in his collegiate career.

Beyond his coaching duties, Murphy is also deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of young athletes. He understands the importance of mentorship and strives to be a positive role model for his players, both on and off the court. His genuine care and dedication to their success extend far beyond wins and losses, making him a beloved figure within the Alabama basketball community.

As he continues to make his mark in the world of college basketball, Murphy remains rooted in his Saginaw upbringing, drawing inspiration from his humble beginnings. His journey from Saginaw to Alabama serves as a testament to the power of hard work, perseverance, and unwavering determination.
