Travel Life Adventures was founded in 2017 by Kolena Allen and Tanner Colton on the premise that travel can be meaningful and exciting for the traveler while also positively impacting the communities, cultures and environments that we travel to. Our desire is to work hand in hand with both travelers and local partners to craft inspired and unique travel opportunities that employ regenerative pract

A recent photo from Ami's trip in the Moroccan Sahara.

Our local partner Hicham thinks of his camels as family. They are not just for carrying supplies but are a vital part of life and also of the journey in the desert. In a real sense, those that have made the nomadic journeys across the harsh desert put their lives in the capable hands of the camel. This is a millennia-old relationship that continues today.

One of our most cherished memories of our time in Morocco is when we were getting ready to leave on the caravan and the camels decided they didn't want to work today and "headed into town." Hicham went and found them and brought them back to get ready to head to work, much to their dismay. Love and mutual respect were prevalent.

We are excited to share a small update on a client trip that is happening as we speak! Right now, a Transformational Travel experience in the Sahara Desert is unfolding and we are loving these pictures! Our client is being guided by our wonderful partner and co-creator Hicham el Haddar. This experience will take them deep into the Sahara for the next 7 days as they sleep under the stars, walking along the same path as the indigenous people and Hicham's ancestors. All culminating in an immersive experience of music and tradition with the Gnawa community deep in the desert.

New Blog Post! One New Place Per Year: Why Exploration Is The Best Teacher

TLA has had the chance to get back to traveling this year. We started in NZ which was a new place for us and had an amazing time. We are now in Slovenia as we make our way to Nepal, India, and Pakistan, before heading back to the States in early summer.

It has felt wonderful traveling again, connecting to something more than our tiny bubble at home. We hope this blog post will inspire you to visit somewhere new this year.

With that said, we know there are a lot of talks right now about the new measures that have been put in place for anyone wanting to go trekking that will start on April 1st.
