I've just experienced my favorite Seward excursion. The excursion I would do every week and never tire from. Wonder if they need a part time deck hand🤔Miller's Landing's Best of Alaska tour. You get an amazingly beautiful boat trip where you will stop to sightsee all kinds of wildlife, kayaking beside massive glaciers, fishing and the best boat crew in Seward. Our boat carried us, our two youngest(11 & 14) and two college age guests. Everyone of us absolutely loved every minute. Our crew, Fred and Dustin, were attentive, knowledgeable and prepared. They made sure to seek out wildlife and kept everyone wearing smiles. Breakfast was a delicious sausage egg and cheese sandwich. The kayaking was relaxing and peaceful. Seeing all the massive glaciers from that level...just awe-inspiring. Back on the boat we got lunch and headed out to enjoy the views of the Fjords. The amount of waterfalls were ridiculous, we were nlessed with a warm sunny day and they shined. We saw dall porpoises, humpbacks, orcas, puffin, sea lions, otters, seals, even got to see whales bubble netting. The whales barrel rolled and breached repeatedly. We were never rushed to move on to the next thing and it never felt boring. When it was time for fishing we all limited out on rock fish and they were even fileted and bagged for us. Alaska is huge and it's hard to pick one thing to do, in Seward, this is it!!!

Everything on property is coming to life! The freshly planted grass and flowers and the established plants that were planted long ago! Love seeing things pop up. So much to learn!!! Thankfully the best plant lady is across the street!! She made all of the hanging baskets and seeded all the flats we put in the grown. Fingers crossed I can make her proud!🌲🌿🌸🌼Tried to label the ones I know, correct me if I'm wrong!

Well, Alaska Waste says they have no bear proof trash cans so we are using rachet straps. This little guy is making flipping rooms very difficult!! I scared him into a tree then the magpies drove him out of the tree. Once he came down, Porkchop ran him into the woods. Hopefully the straps will hold and he will move on. Remember, no cleaning fish on property and do not leave trash on the porch. Pay attention when outdoors. Moose and bear are everywhere!!

I made a big mistake today...I stopped by Supaluck's Bakery. I'm going to have to up my rates to afford my new addiction!!! Her biscoff cookie is absolutely amazing. Coffee was delicious and strong, I've been searching for strong. Kids got the red velvet cookie and the garlic cream cheese bun. I'd love to tell you what I thought about them and share a pic but they were gone before I could🤣🤣 So excited to watch this gorgeous little shop grow!!!! Check out their grab and go daily specials😍🤤

The final unit has been remodeled and will be open for booking by the end of the day!!! A little nod to back home, Pinecone Palace🌲This unit is a studio apartment above the garage. It is the most secluded of the units and so peaceful. I've got a few more finishing touches but it already has a guest in it! This will be our last of the redos for this season but we already have plans for some exciting new add-ons for next year!!

Fyi!!!

Summer is here, and so are baby moose!

🫎 If you encounter a moose calf and cannot see its mother, remember that she may be just out of view. Cow moose will often leave their calves in secluded areas to go and browse for forage, and often times return without you knowing.

🧐 Do not assume young animals are alone or orphaned. Mother moose are particularly dangerous during this time of year, and while you may not see her right away you should take precautions to avoid a potentially dangerous encounter.

👀 Be aware of your surroundings, follow warnings posted on signs, and if you do encounter a calf, back away and leave from the direction you came.

👉 If you observe a young animal that you think has been alone for over 48 hours, contact the Alaska Department of Fish and Game or report it online at: WildlifeEncounters.adfg.alaska.gov.

Hey y'all! Just a reminder... there is no cleaning fish on property. We love our fishermen and women but we have kiddos stay here that might not be as familiar with bear safety. That means, no cleaning or disposing of carcasses please. You will be fined if we catch you. If you need to clean your catch, we can help you with locations in town. Thanks for understanding!!
