Welcome to the New Year everyone. I thought I would share just one of the many fantastic reviews our property has had.

Christmas 2023
We had an amazing time. We had the top two condos which allowed us plenty of space for the nine of us. The condo was attractive and spacious. We kept the doors open and basically moved through the two as if it were one. The pool and the hot tub were both warm. We used them daily, along with the beach which was a very short walk away. The kitchens were small but having two kitchens made cooking very easy, plus we took full advantage of the outdoor kitchen by the pool. Having four bathrooms was a godsend with teenage boys and girls! I also loved the balcony’s for morning coffees and a good book. We ate…and ate. We went deep sea fishing and parasailing. We rented golf carts and did much of our traveling that way. I highly recommended it. We visited the nature center, the turtles and the birds..and let’s not forget the alligators. We played a ton of board games and cards. It was a very relaxing, family oriented vacation which was just what the dr ordered. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely vacation home with us. I love how you have kept your nephews memory alive through these condos.

South Padre Island, Texas, Friday, June 24, 2022 – The Texas Travel Awards has named the City of South Padre Island, Texas, Destination of the Year 2022. South Padre Island won six awards total, taking home the People’s Choice for Best Destination for Families and the statewide prize for best Brewery, Best Instagrammable Spot, Live Music Venue, and Outdoor Activity in the Small Market category.



Created by the publishers of Austin Monthly, San Antonio Magazine, and Texas Music, the Texas Travel Awards recognize and celebrate the top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State, shining a spotlight on the most exciting, innovative, and inviting places throughout Texas. The 2022 winners represent uniquely Texas places and experiences worthy of any traveler’s itinerary.



With 34 miles of coastline, 300+ days of sunshine, and all forms of entertainment from water sports to live music, South Padre Island is the perfect island retreat. Easily accessible by land or sea and with year-round warm temperatures, visitors can experience the South Padre Island lifestyle any season. This is the way to travel. We had guests from Minnesota who stayed with us this week and rented the whole building. We find more groups are renting the building for that sense of exclusivity and having the whole property for themselves. Thanks for staying with us and we hope to see you again.

Small touches, big impression
We had 8 families staying in the six condos and had a wonderful experience. The place was so clean. We had a storm and the team was there the next morning cleaning up the yard debris and the pool with out any prompting. The small touches - we were all very impressed with there thoughtfulness: the beach towels, beach chairs, beach wagon, beach umbrella. And although we did not have toddlers there was a high chair and play pen in each condo. These owners really care and it shows. We loved the book and learning of their son. It shows that the condos are all done in his honor. Strong work Mom and Dad - a loving way to honor your son! The pool side amenities were also small touches we thoroughly enjoyed. The poolside bathroom, poolside TV (especially to watch the final four), the poolside pool table, the poolside grills, the poolside refrigerator. The wading area was a great place to sit and the teens loved the hot tub. We loved the shaded poolhouse when some of us had too much sun. We wiped down the top of the pool table cover and it worked great for our buffet nights. The ease of walking to the beach was unexpected. We loved the beach time too. The walking/biking path along the road was great on windy days to still get our exercise in and for our runners. The manager was SO responsive it was a breath of fresh air! The TV wouldn't work at poolside. Well a transformer blew from the storm and the manager called to inform us and provide a time line for correcting the problem. The kitchens were all well equipped which is huge for my family. My husband has significant food allergies and so we cooked all our meals in the condo. We had everything we needed. Truly a piece of paradise on South Padre Island and the small touches made a big impression for our group. Thank you!

Diane and I would like to thank our winter guests who stayed at our Athena Ares condos at South Padre Island Tx. Mike and Julie as well as Richard and Marjorie had to attend to matters back home and weren’t here for the party. Diane was a little under the weather and missed out on the fun also.
We thank everyone of you for your confidence in staying with us and hope to see you all next season.

As Diane and I approach our first year of ownership of this fantastic vacation property we hope you have seen the constant improvements and re-investment of capital. We most recently changed out all the bath towels,hand towels and washcloths and replaced them with the most luxurious brand that is used in major “5 star hotels”. And to preserve their appearance we have also added “fresh face” washcloths for make up removal that will assist our guests.
