It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our beloved homeowners. We are lost for words at the sudden and unexpected passing of this wonderful man. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers of peace and strength go out to Elna and their family at this time.

{3:47PM Saturday} ***The RGV is out of the forecast cone for Beryl. As of the 4PM advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Beryl had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and was located about 385 miles southeast of Corpus Christi. Beryl is still forecast to become a Category 1 hurricane by Sunday. While the RGV is out of the forecast cone, there will still be occasional heavy rain bands and winds Sunday and Monday as the storm moves nearby, and coastal deterioration will be possible. For Hidalgo County, the rain will most likely happen east of 69c, and Starr will be drier.
WIND: Tropical storm force winds of 39-57mph are possible along the immediate coastline (South Padre Island, Port Isabel, Port Mansfield) Sunday evening and night. Winds should be gone by midnight - 2 am. By Monday morning, the strongest winds will be gone. Inland (everyone except the immediate coast) wind will not be a problem. It might be a little breezy in Cameron and Willacy Counties Sunday afternoon into the overnight hours, but nothing near hurricane force.
RAIN: Not a lot.
Coast - 2-3 inches
Inland Cameron/Willacy - 1-2 inches
Hidalgo/Starr - Less than 1 inch
Watershed - little to no impact
SURGE: 1 to 2 feet above normal high tide possible at South Padre Island, Boca Chica Beach, and Port Isabel. Slightly higher tides at Port Mansfield. Surge impacts mainly Sunday and Sunday night. The Rip Current Risk will be extreme on Sunday and Monday and swimmers should use extreme caution or avoid the surf.
TORNADO: Threat is not zero, but close. We can't 100% rule out an isolated tornado if a spiral band comes across the area, but chances are very small.
MARINE: Small craft should be IN PORT by the end of the day today. Marine conditions offshore will be extremely hazardous.
TRAVEL: Traveling northward out of the Valley today is no problem. Sunday/Monday could be a little tricky, especially if headed north of Corpus Christi toward Houston. Beryl is expected to move inland between CRP and HOU on Monday making driving in that area extremely difficult because of the strong winds and heavy rain. Heading toward San Antonio/Austin - should be better. You may run into some heavy rain on Monday, but winds shouldn't be a problem in that area.
BOTTOM LINE: Except at the immediate coastline, most of us in the RGV may not even know there's a hurricane passing by offshore. Winds will shift, and there will be some gusty heavier showers in some areas, but overall it will not feel like a hurricane. We are dodging the bullet. For those on South Padre Island and in Port Isabel, it'll be quite windy and at times there will be some heavy rain - mainly Sunday afternoon and night. If winds reach 45mph, the causeway may be temporarily closed. By Monday morning, this system will be gone and normal activities can continue. I wouldn't say we're dodging the bullet, I'd say we're being grazed by it.
