There's nothing quite like a morning cleanup to start the day 🌎

Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority staff, together with volunteers from Noble Studios, Forest Suites Resort At Heavenly-Village, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Chamber, and Tahoe Events Center removed over 40 pounds of trash from the Lam Watah Nature Trail to Nevada Beach during our first-ever cleanup of the area.

The Tahoe Blue Crew program empowers and supports businesses, nonprofits, and individuals to help create a litter-free Lake Tahoe through community cleanups and regular reporting.

Representing both lake and sky, a Bald Eagle carrying a Lahontan Cutthroat Trout in its talons is the final option to be made into a sculpture and placed in front of the Tahoe South Events Center.

The last concept celebrates the new record-high number of bald eagles counted by the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science in the 2021 season. This depiction illustrates the food web and celebrates both species as integral and iconic parts of the whole. Both of the species’ health greatly depends on the lake’s health.

The next candidate to be made into a sculpture and placed in front of the Tahoe South Events Center is the legendary Lahontan Cutthroat Trout.

The only native trout to the region, this prehistoric species of trout is a primary Lake Tahoe predator as well as a key food source for many land-based creatures. Recent reintroduction efforts of the Lahontan Cutthroat trout have been successful, but there is still a long way to go before this species is back to a healthy population.

If you think the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout should have a permanent place in front of the Tahoe South Events Center, click the link below and cast your vote 🐟✅
