Dog Park Soft Opening

Sunriver’s dog park has finally become a reality, and owners are welcome to enjoy the soft opening of the park starting this weekend. The park is located at the Cottonwood Park complex (adjacent to the tennis courts) across from the north end Marketplace store.

The park is completely fenced and features a separate small dog area (30 pounds and under) and a mix & mingle section for dogs of all sizes. The park was left natural with plenty of trees, stumps and bushes to ti**le on and even a small rock outcropping for dogs to explore.

Park usage rules are posted at the site. A water station will be installed in the coming weeks along with permanent trash receptacles for dog waste. We ask all pet parents to clean up after their dog to ensure the park stays clean for the enjoyment of park users and nearby neighbors. The site also has a port-a-potty (for the humans).

There will be an official grand opening ceremony at the park on June 15, 12pm. All are welcome to attend.

Sign up to ride in the Sunriver Bike Parade! Proceeds benefit local charities. Registration coming soon!

Check out police and fire vehicles, climb up a rock wall, grab a balloon creation, and more! Some activities are free of charge, and proceeds benefit local charities that serve children. So bring the whole family out for a day full of fun!

Pick your pottery item, design & paint, leave it, they will fire it! Relax and have fun, they have lots of samples, tools, a great idea books and a very helpful staff to help.

About Pottery Painting Workshop

They will have everything you need to get creative; materials, tools, lots of inspiration and a Talented Studio Host to walk you through the process of painting on pottery step by step. Save and register early as a solo participant, or register with your friends and family to enjoy your time together socializing while making something beautiful! Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for your workshop and grab an Artful Refreshment.

What’s included in the workshop

They provide everything you will need! Just come prepared to have an Artsy Good Time. They have aprons available, but you should come dressed in something you would not mind getting paint on. You will pick out your pottery piece that is within price of your ticket, you may upgrade and price will change at checkout. They will firing your piece and it will be ready for pick up within 2-3 business days.

Kid’s Day in May at The Village

This fun-filled Kid’s Day event focuses on kids of all ages and includes numerous games and activities. Visit the petting zoo* to get up close with your favorite animals, then let your littles jump away on the bounce houses. Experience the challenge of the Rock Wall, then refuel the family with some tasty food or sweet treats. Don’t forget to head over to the firefighters and police officers to see cool service vehicles and learn about their jobs before leaving. Bring the family out for some all-day fun that will be sure to create memories to last a lifetime.

Kid’s Day is free to attend and the activities are ticket-based with tickets costing $1 per ticket.

Portions of the proceeds from Kid’s Day in May benefit nonprofit organizations in South Deschutes County.

In order to mark this occasion Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory is doing all things Kingfisher on May 24. We have dedicated this entire day to in-depth exploration and learning about this amazing bird. Join us at the Nature Center throughout the day to participate in fun family activities featuring Kingfisher adaptations.

Observatory Nighttime Visits

Wednesdays and Saturdays | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Seek the stars at the nation’s largest collection of publicly accessible telescopes. 1 and 1/2-hour sessions start with an educational presentation, followed by night sky viewing through various telescopes with staff astronomers, and a guided constellation tour. All sessions will take place regardless of weather or visibility and activities may be modified as weather warrants. The capacity for each session is limited. This experience is not recommended for children ages 5 and younger.

Tickets are for a specific date. Only 10 tickets in total may be purchased in one transaction. All adults and children require a ticket.

FREE - Bring the family out to the Village at Sunriver to kick off the 2022 Holiday Season with the 5th annual Rockin’ Holiday Kickoff! The event will take place on Saturday, November 26th at 2:00 pm. Sip on coffee or cocoa while listening to various performers and carolers. Venture your way over to see Santa for free photos with jolly Old St. Nick and play free carnival style games with Santa’s elf helpers. The night ends with the lighting of the Village Christmas tree and a “Rockin’” concert igniting the holiday season!

Rent Stand Up Paddleboards in Sunriver

Typically, you can rent either a fiberglass paddleboard or an inflatable paddleboard. Inflatable paddleboards are great for guests that don’t have the towing capacity for a full-size fiberglass paddleboard.

Good 2 Go — Located in The Village at Sunriver, Good 2 Go offers a variety of water sport toy rentals, including stand up paddleboards. $70 full day rental

Sunriver Toy House — Paddleboard rentals at Sunriver Toy House start at $60/day for inflatable SUPs. Sunriver Toy House also has large, multi-person paddleboards that act as small boats – like the “Sunrdeck” and “Mega SUP”.

Sunriver Resort Marina — The Marina at Sunriver Resort has typically been reserved for guests of the Resort only, but this year they will be offering stand up paddleboard rentals to the public. Check back on The Marina’s website for more information about cost as it gets closer to summer.

Sun Country Tours — Sun Country Tours offers a fleet of high-quality fiberglass paddleboards made by Bend-based company, Stand On Liquid, offered in 9’6″ and 10’6″ lengths. Pick up is located at Sun Country’s Bend headquarters. $35/3 hours, $75 for 24 hours.
