Today, the Safe Passing Law took effect.

The new law, in summary, states motorists are to use due caution while approaching pedestrians, bicyclists, scooters, etc. This includes changing lanes if possible, if a lane change is not possible, the motorist must maintain at least 4 feet of distance and if neither of those are possible then the motorist shall reduce speed to 25 MPH, or a lower posted speed, and pass if it does not endanger the safety of the pedestrian, bicyclist, scooters, etc.

Violation of this include fines up to $500.00 and two motor vehicle penalty points.

PARKING METERS TAKE EFFECT SATURDAY 5/15
Borough parking meters will be in effect from 8 am to 10 pm daily beginning Saturday, May 15. Meters are $1.50 per hour and can be paid with quarters or through the ParkMobile app. Meters will be in effect through Sept. 15.
A seasonal parking permit can be purchased from the tax office at borough hall for $250.
