⚓️ The dreaded Florida Summer Zombie bass. A 4lb fish in a 6lbers frame 🤦🏼‍♂️. Low on oxygen, poor water quality and just hanging on trying to survive to the fall. Is this another sign things are getting worse or just a normal occurrence every summer here?!?!

New name, same fish
The most iconic Florida freshwater fish has a new name: Largemouth bass is now called Florida bass! The American Fisheries Society established the Florida bass as a separate species from the largemouth bass due to a recent study about black bass species. This doesn’t change how anglers fish for this special sport fish but it shows how unique the Florida bass is for the Sunshine State.
