SEA TUNA EYES – DO YOU WANT TO TRY IT?
Sea tuna eyes, a special dish from Phu Yen province at the center of Vietnam, are fatty and have a unique flesh flavor.
Tuna eyes are processed and cooked meticulously. The eyes (after it has been cleaned and preliminary treated), only eyeballs and some vegetables, spices in dishes are put earthenware jars and cooked.
Tuna eyes are served with many kinds of herbs, but especially indispensable is shredded shiso leaves. For the central part of Vietnam, people there are often add some more peanuts, small pieces of baked Vietnamese rice paper.
Are they healthy? Very nutritious because it contains a lot of valuable nutrients, including omega-3, DHA and many vitamins and minerals that help increase metabolism, good for young brains, help brighten eyes and strengthen the body.
We do hope that this kind of food will be available in Hanoi in the coming time.

Have you ever heard of Vietnamese egg coffee? It’s one of the most unique drinks with a delicious taste, originating in Hanoi. After the 1940s famine, Nguyen Giang found that we could have made a cup of coffee with eggs instead of milk as we didn't have enough milk. As a result, this one-of-a-kind drink was created. The drink is made by beating egg yolks with sugar and coffee, then extracting the coffee into half of the cup, followed by a similar amount of "egg cream"⁠ ⁠— egg yolks which are heated and beaten, or whisked. The cup is sometimes served inside a bowl of hot water or set upon a small candle to retain its temperature. It can be served either hot or iced. It tastes smooth, silky, and its cream-like coffee looks so wonderful as well.
