Over the weekend of June 15, a team of from Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, converged on Bermagui to complete dives on 2 of the deepest wrecks in Australia. The first dive was on the HMS William Dawes, which was a US ‘Liberty’ ship who was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine and sunk on 22nd July 1942. She now sits in 135msw. Leaving the wreck at the 24 minute mark we had a total dive time of just short of 5 hours.
The second dive was on the still unconfirmed wreck of either the Wear or the Coast Farmer in 125msw. After approx 20mins on the wreck we had a total dive time of just over 3.5 hours.
There were 3 teams of bottom divers:
#1 David Tipping, Alex Lee and Chris McCran - ‘The Mexicans’
#2 Tom Gower, John Wooden and Rus Pnevski
#3 Samir Alhafith (our fearless leader) and Scott Wyatt (equally fearless, but not the leader)
We also had a trio of support divers who’s hard work and assistance made these dives both safer and more comfortable.
An enormous amount of thanks must be directed towards: Ben ‘Benno’ Claydon
Luke ‘Spewy’ Carden
Steve ‘Supervisor’ Kang
Finally our skipper Steve and decky Dillon from Fishbermi.com Charter Services did a great job of shotting the wreck and getting us there and back safely. Thanks guys!
These are just a few photos, more video and photos will follow.

Today we went fishing for tonight’s dinner! 🎣
Out with Fishbermi.com Charter Services we were chasing reef fish and managed to snag these rainbow perch. Fantastic day out with Steve the skipper and the rest of the crew. Must come back in Marlin and Tuna season!
And yes, they went down a treat on the barbie back at the BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park tonight!

Fantastic first 48 hours on the Sapphire Coast in beautiful Bermagui! The sun is shining and the front beach is sparkling - there is no questioning why they call it the ‘Sapphire Coast’ just look at the colours 😍
So Bermagui is known for its seafood and game fishing so I’m bringing Lady Luck with me tomorrow on a game fishing charter with Fishbermi.com Charter Services and hopefully there will be something to throw on the barbie back at BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park 🎣 🐟 🦈

A great day for chartering Fishbermi.com Charter Services for a spot of fishing. .com
Thanks to the charter boats that helped make the ITC CORPORATE GROUP a success despite rubbish weather. Beers, great steaks and large fresh prawns each night helped over 40 clients cope. Also to Kaj 'Bushy' Busch for taking the non ocean goers on to the lake both days they were wrapped. Here are some Kings landed on 'Nitro' whilst they and Tru Dee V got a heap of Dolphin also. Fishbermi fished inshore for a morning session to land a dozen reds and plenty of Flatties, thanks all. The boys aboard Fishbermi.com managed a dozen good snapper at montague island this morning, no kings but when you're getting a feed of snapper it's still a great place for a days fishing. Game fishing has been tough given the unfavourable weather conditions we have had and continue to have. The arrival of striped tuna is always a welcome sight as they generally brings the bigger guys with them. Plenty of good calamari on our inshore reefs and the beaches are still producing good numbers of salmon and quite a few nice tailor.
A bit of activity from the bait hole north to Tuross today with marlin scattered right through this area. Good bait at the bait hole as this screen shot from Fishbermi.com Charter Services shows, also marking fish and catching fish in the area was bill collector. Strong winds will see most people stay on shore tomorrow before reasonable weather for the weekend. The beaches have all been fishing well with lots of salmon and plenty of tailor including some # # models amongst them. I landed 4 tailor to 2kg this arvo on metal lures and lost one estimated at 7-8kg after a 25min fight on a 3-5kg rod, definitely one of the biggest tailor I have seen in these parts and wouldn't be alone. Cheers Baron
