Last night we had the privilege of celebrating our Belgrade Centre’s 5th Anniversary 💃

We say a huge thank you to our esteemed guests who made the evening a memorable one. It was a great opportunity to not only celebrate this milestone but also recognize our long-standing employees.

In 2019 we opened our Belgrade Centre not knowing that in a few months the Covid pandemic would bring the aviation industry to a standstill. Despite the challenges faced, our Belgrade Centre has flourished and continues to exceed expectations!

Thank you to all who made this occasion a huge success, we look forward to many more milestones together ✈️

We're incredibly proud to serve as FlyScoot's trusted partner for Centralised Load Control (CLC) since 2017, a partnership that continues to grow from strength to strength. Today, we celebrate two significant milestones. ✈️

Historically, GLC has managed loadsheets for Scoot’s wide-body aircraft across all outstations, excluding those departing from Singapore. We’re thrilled to announce that our CLC services have now been extended to include Scoot’s narrow-body fleet. Today, our Cape Town Load Control Agent, Laurenco Laws, proudly handled the first load sheet for a Scoot narrow-body A320 flight departing from Singapore. 🎉

Over the next few weeks, we will progressively handle more flights, with a full rollout of the narrow-body fleet from SIN beginning in September. This major milestone was of course another great reason to have a celebration at the office today.

Here’s to many more milestones, partnerships, and aviation success! We’re honoured to be part of Scoot's journey. 🚀

At GLC, we embrace opportunities for our colleagues to experience ground operations firsthand.

Over the past few months, GLC, in collaboration with some of our partner airlines like and has been participating in a station exchange program.

Colleagues from various airports have visited our offices in Cape Town and Belgrade, while our team members have visited different stations globally, including Boston, Nairobi, London, Lagos and Munich. This initiative strengthens our partnerships and offers enriching learning experiences for our team.

A couple of months ago, one of our team managers, Elana Rudimuldu, welcomed Abdul Mannan Malik, Lufthansa’s Deputy Station Manager at manchesterairport.live, to our head office in Cape Town. Mannan had the opportunity to view our live operations and learn how we provide various remote aviation services to our global airline customers. He also enjoyed exploring our beautiful city with a few of our colleagues.

Recently, it was Elana’s turn to visit Mannan at MAN. 🛫 During her visit, she received a fantastic tour of the airport and met with the various teams responsible for ensuring timely flight departures. ✈️ “It was fascinating to see how the different departments, like check-in, work seamlessly together for smooth operations. The warm hospitality from everyone at the airport was truly appreciated.” 🤝

After the recent Blue Screen Friday IT systems outage, which grounded flights and stranded passengers worldwide, most airlines are now back on track to resume normal service.

Happy Birthday, Discover Airlines! 🥂

Yesterday marked three incredible years since Lufthansa’s leisure destination airline, Discover Airlines took to the skies, and we at GLC are honoured to be your preferred partner for Centralised Load Control (CLC) since day one. 💙

Reflecting on our journey together, we're proud to have been part of so many firsts with you, including handling the load sheet for your inaugural flight on July 24, 2021, and supporting new and exciting route launches to exotic locations such as Victoria Falls, Zanzibar, and Kruger National Park. 🌟

To celebrate, we'd like to share images of two special moments together:

1. When Discover Airlines, touched down on Namibian soil for the first time in Windhoek on August 11, 2021.

2. Our agents in the Belgrade office, with Luka Đerić holding the first load sheet he created for flight 4Y143 from Frankfurt to Kruger National Park on November 15, 2022, marking Discover as the first airline to offer an intercontinental scheduled service on this route.

Here’s to many more years of success and shared milestones, such as the upcoming Munich to Windhoek route in March 2025. 🎉✈️

Today, in celebration of Mandela Day, GLC dedicated time to give back to the older generation. Mandela Day, observed today, July 18th, is inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy and encourages everyone to spend 67 minutes doing something good for others, symbolising the 67 years Mandela fought for social justice. 🇿🇦

Over the past two weeks, our colleagues at GLC contributed to donation boxes, collecting items such as socks, scarves, beanies, slippers, wool, and knitting needles. Today, our Cape Town team visited Erica Place in Athlone, a frail care home for 120 retirees. We spent quality time with the residents, serving hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and muffins. We also painted nails and built puzzles with them, making the day special and memorable.

🌍 Last week, our Business Relationship Manager attended the Aviadev Africa Conference in Windhoek, Namibia. This event focuses on advancing aviation across Africa through networking, learning, and discussions on infrastructure, connectivity, and economic impact.

A key focus is on route development to enhance travel efficiency across the continent. ✈️ We’re particularly excited about our partner for Centralised Load Control (CLC) Discover Airlines' new Munich to Windhoek route launching in March 2025.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to hear about significant investments and developments, such as those at Lanseria Int Airport in Gauteng and the upcoming Cape Winelands Airport in the Western Cape, launching in 2028. These projects promise job creation and increased economic activity from new businesses and passengers they will attract. 💼🌍

It is always a great opportunity to meet many counterparts from airports and airlines across Africa and beyond, including our longstanding partner for CLC at Lufthansa, as well as OEMs like Airbus and Embraer and system partners like .

Attending key events such as this one, allows us to collaborate with professionals dedicated to enhancing connectivity within Africa and to meet future industry leaders.

The Aviadev Africa conference is a fantastic blend of reconnecting with the industry and exploring the future of aviation in Africa.

We would like to welcome Lufthansa City Airlines, the newest member of the Lufthansa Group, as ’s latest partner for Centralised Load Control (CLC) services. 🥂

Operating under the code VL, they will be running daily flights from Munich to major European cities and remote regions.

We’re thrilled to support Lufthansa City Airlines with all their CLC needs and are proud to be part of their transition and growth.

Shoutout to our dedicated load control agents, Jovan Todosijević in Belgrade and Sibulele Mashiyi in Cape Town, who handled the inaugural flights, VL2508 and VL2509, with precision and care.

Last week, our Database Management and Configurations Specialist, Beatrix Eikhoff, attended the 32nd FM User Group Conference at the Amadeus offices in Sophia Antipolis, near Nice.

From May 28-30, airline FM Users and specialist teams came together to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and discuss the future of aviation technology. ✈️💡

🌟 Exciting Times at the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) Conference in Addis Ababa this week! 🌟

This week our MD Markus Becker and Simone Brueckner, our Executive Manager of Operations, attended the highly impactful 12th Aviation Stakeholders Convention and the inaugural African Aviation Safety & Operations Summit.

Hosted by Ethiopian Airlines, the event brought together over 400 high-profile delegates from across Africa and beyond to discuss strategies for enhancing African aviation.

Held under the theme “Beyond connecting African aviation,” the event provided a platform for industry experts to deliberate on developing a sustainable and interconnected air transport industry in Africa. Additionally, the summit focused on championing aviation safety in the region, showcasing the collaborative efforts to promote operational best practices and strengthen safety culture.

A huge thank you to AFRAA and Ethiopian Airlines for organizing such a pivotal event! ✈️
