A very inventive and powerful pictoral representation of how desperately we need to conserve our habitats and wildlife!

A brilliant 2008 campaign by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has recently resurfaced. The campaign, called WWF Japan – Population by pixel, was created by the agency Hakuhodo C&D / Tokyo. The brains behind it were creative directors Nami Hoshino, Yoshiyuki Mikami, and designer Kazuhiro Mochizuki. Inspired by their work, Imgurian JJSmooth44 made this follow-up and it’s just as powerful as the original.

Another fabulous photo from the Masai Mara. This stunning zebra foal’s unusual and beautiful markings are probably a result of higher than normal levels of melanin - what a fantastic sighting!

I’m sharing this because it really gives us all an insight into the hardships faced by so many kids in Africa who are trying to get an education. What incredible determination Johanas has, each & every day! And huge kudos to Tim for getting him home.

News from the Serengeti ... large migratory herds are moving through the western corridor and arriving into the Grumeti on their way north.

News from our friends in the north ... the annual wildebeest migration has started the river crossing into Kenya’s Masai Mara from the Serengeti. An exceptionally dry few months have resulted in herds moving north earlier than “normal”, but good news ... it’s raining today in the northern Serengeti and the Mara!

To all our friends in the US enduring the current "cold snap", if you must go outside, please wrap up warm and be safe. Or you could just stay home with a nice glass of mulled wine, and use this time to plan your next vacation in the African sunshine ;)
Looking forward to hearing from you!! Love Helen x
