South African lighthouse of the week:-
“New” Cape Point Lighthouse, Cape Point, Western Cape.
The iconic red rose is most associated with Valentines Day, but we think this endemic everlasting is an infinitely more romantic symbol of eternal love!
Most everlastings form part of the Syncarpha genus, but the common name also sometimes refers to the Cape Strawflower (𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘢), species in the Helichrysum genus, or other flowering plants that have a particularly long lifespan.

A serene morning following a night’s rain. The air is cool and fresh, and beams of early morning sunlight filter through dark clouds casting a gentle light over a choppy False Bay

Pet friendly, self-catering accommodation on the coast
Self Catering Beachside Garden Cottages....
Imagine a rambling 1850's homestead overlooking a beautiful beach in a sheltered cove, huge granite boulders scattered in a turquoise sea, edged with clear white beaches. Idyllic, Tranquil, Magical.
Bosky Dell (sheltered place) is perhaps the last secret hide-out of the Cape. In a truly unique setting directly above the iconic Boulders Beach, it seems lost in time.
Although the carriages and horses are no longer here, the Main House, Coach House and Stables still stand!
Bosky Dell has been converted into five charming self-contained, self-catering cottages, offers simple and comfy, peaceful and private, spotlessly clean accommodation.
The spacious private grounds adjoin Boulders Beach, our garden gate leads directly onto the beach walkway. The white sandy cove below is strewn with giant granite boulders 540 million years old. It is sheltered from the wind and offers safe, shark-free bathing.
Besides its incomparable beauty, the beach is famous for the unique colony of endangered African Penguins that took up home at The Boulders in 1982. You actually do swim with the penguins! This is a nature lover's paradise - truly a hidden jewel where our visitors return to experience its magic.
