I really enjoy teaching ART to both KIDS & ADULTS, beginners & advanced so make sure to come to my WEEKLY CLASSES during TERM or send your kids to my HOLIDAY ART CLUBS. ilana is a local Durban Artist, mother of three incredible kids and the wife of a Missionary Pastor. She not only enjoys creating vibrant, diverse expressive pieces of Art but also is someone who is passionate about making a differ
ence in the community. She has vast experience using her creative Art for Life program in community development on a therapeutic level. This has been really successful in rehabilitation centers both in South Africa and in the United States, where she was a housemother in a Children’s Group Home, (Thessalonika Family Services). Her work has been very effective with the offenders at Westville Correctional Services as well as with children who have suffered extensive abuse. She is also making an impact on local communities such as Marianridge and KwaDabeka. Nursing Psychiatric Nursing Program she has given the 4th year students tutorials on Creative Reflective Learning enabling the students to unlock their unique creativity and develop as Reflective Practitioners. Reflective Learning is the main problem based tool used in 4th year nursing so these creative techniques are useful as well as transferable to the Mental Health Service Users and community members the students will work with in their nursing practice during this module. Art for Life focuses on “Releasing Creativity and Building Personal Identity”, unlocking individual potential and developing a sense of Value and Purpose. ilana also runs her own ART STUDIO and teaches art to young children, teenagers and adults. ilana is passionate about bringing hope to the hopeless and loving the unloved so will find any way possible to express this to those she comes into contact with.
