If you haven’t been to Zanzibar and you feel like an island holiday, this is it. Pictures you usually only see in brochures, but to see it in real time is on another level. Only 3.5 hour direct flight from Joburg and just off the coast of Tanzania. Most friendliest people. They speak Swahili and you can use Tanzanian Shilling or USD there. Rainy season March-May, Nov/Dec, but we were lucky. Tropical climate. Dry season Jun-Oct which is peak season and you will pay higher prices, but still most affordable island holiday. Zanzibar can be enjoyed any time of the year.
