When we renovated Kalimera, we had a goal to create a space where you can feel free, safe and relaxed.

The full perimeter of the property is secured by an electrical fence with 24-hour armed response. We used Clear view fences and gates.

The alarm system in the house can be armed for the downstairs areas independently, as all bedrooms are on the upper floor.

The spacious family kitchen is equipped with modern electrical appliances, high-quality cutlery and crockery, Le Creuset cookware and a Seaco bean-to-cup coffee machine.

Solar panels and inverters ensure no electrical outages.

A dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided for convenience.

For 26 years, my husband and I have shared a dream - to own a beach house with awe-inspiring views. Our journey began in East London, South Africa, where my husband, a specialist anaesthetist, embarked on his career. Here, we almost purchased a stunning beachfront stand in Gonubie, envisioning the construction of our dream home. Eager to bring our vision to life, I delved into Greek interior decorating, immersing myself in the beauty captured by Suzanne Slesin, Stafford Cliff, and Daniel Rozensztroch in their book, Greek Style. Enthralled by the idea of a Greek-style house, which we planned to name Kalimera, I soon realised that the distance from the hospitals in East London would pose a challenge. Despite this setback, the dream of owning a beach house where the ocean serves as a breathtaking backdrop has been a constant in our lives. Praying and believing, I have always held onto the vision that someday, our dream will materialise. The allure of a beach house with panoramic ocean views remains a source of inspiration and motivation, driving me to continue pursuing this lifelong aspiration. A Lifelong Dream: The Pursuit of a Beach House with Breathtaking Views. When Natalie set her eyes on a beachfront property in Mossel Bay, overlooking the Santos Beach and old harbour, she immediately fell in love. The property, which dates back to the early 20th century, was overgrown and, in a sense, neglected, but Natalie immediately noticed the old bones, which needed sympathetic but also artistic hands. The house with Edwardian features could easily be transformed into a Mediterranean villa, and an all-white outside and inside was the perfect choice, with only the original stonework on the outside left untouched. The interior walls and beautiful woodwork were all done in white, while the solid floorboards were treated in a whitewash, which all enhanced the Mediterranean beach house style.
